Hubby and I rented a house next to The Real Kings for 2 months during the pandemic and I wanted to share our observations with potential visitors. We saw “behind the scenes” when guests were not present and the employees did not know they were being observed. We thought it would be helpful to know how clean and well-maintained the rooms and resort are at all times, even when unoccupied. The rooms are frequently cleaned, even when unoccupied, which is essential for a structure located so close to the ocean. The maintenance was also ongoing. For example, we had a nasty storm that caused damage to both of our roofs. Their employees were on the damage right away – they fixed the roof, painted the room, aired it out, and then recleaned it. We saw improvements to the bar area, grounds, parking area, and more. They keep the beach clean from debris, seaweed, etc. They also have a nightwatchman from a reputable company which is very important. They did not have many guests while we were next door, but the staff treated those guests like gold! We saw seating for the outdoor dining area had been spaced far apart for social distancing. I noticed the review posted before mine is over a year old – I’m pretty sure the resort has a new owner since then. I also noticed that a previous review complained of having a room with a small window that faced a wall – that wall was my house and that window has been moved to a better location in the room. In summary, we were impressed with what we observed and wanted to share our unbiased observations with potential guests. On a personal note, I miss the sweet orange and white kitty who lives in the area. Please spoil him for me (he likes canned tuna). Thank you! Be sure to read the reviews of my other Roatan adventures and see pics of my island pup! *Thank you for reading my review! Please click the “thumbs-up” below. :)

Didn’t answer my online request via email for a room so I used messenger and the said...yes we have a room. When we got dropped off they forgot to pencil us in. The taxi had already left so we on own our own. Gave us a room for $145 Canadian. No place for luggage. Behind bar, across from kitchen with a slamming screen door. Can’t use the bathroom fan and close the bathroom door at the same time. And because there was no coffee pot, we paid $3 for a coffee in the morning, (who these days charges overnight guests for a coffee???) It’s very over priced. Find a place with more options close by. Here you are confined to use their services only.

Where do I start. The staff at Real Kings are wonderful. Clarissa and Ruth are so hard working they ensure that everyone has what they need however they ate over worked and don't always have time to be as attentive as they want to be. The vibe at Real Kings is very laid back. The rooms need some work there is no place to put suitcases or belongings. The rooms are small, all the seating areas are uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. The beds are uncomfortable after the first few nights. With a few changes to things this little hidden gem would be our go to place. Thank you Genesis, Clarissa, Ruth for all the hospitality. I also need to mention Brad from Sandy Bay divers. Thank you for all the trips to snorkel your availability to accommodate us was wonderful. Thank you. Phil and Lisa

We had shrimp ceviche. It tasted like it was made early and not fresh. Also they gave us about 6 chips which all of which were broken except one. Chips are cheap, really, why give 6 chips most of them broken. I would not go back.
