My husband and I just returned from a 7 night stay at Tranquilseas. The lodge is absolutely beautiful - lush foliage and scenic views from just about everywhere. Our cabana (Hummingbird) was clean and very comfortable, as was the entire resort. All of the staff...More
My (adult) children and I just spent 3 great days in Tranquilseas. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We got up every morning and snorkeled to the reef right from the beach at tranquil seas. The food was good, the lodge was beautiful, clean and...More
My mother and I just got back from a 6-day visit to Tranquilseas. We loved it!
As everyone says, the snorkeling off the dock and to the nearby reef is incredibly beautiful. The diving was fantastic! Henry, Matt, Di, and Kerry were knowledgable, professional, and...More

Loved this place! The staff is friendly and accommodating, especially Fernando, who helped us in a family emergency. The rooms were comfy and the views breathtaking. We stayed in the King Crab and the Hummingbird. You snorkel right off the dock- it is much easier...More

I've stayed at Tranquliseas twice now -- once in Octopus, which has an ocean view, and once in Tortuga, which does not. I found in both cases that I spent most of my time at the hotel on the restaurant deck mentioned by Lauren or down on the palapa on the water. You won't be disappointed if your room doesn't have an ocean view. There are plenty of places just steps away to take in the ocean and beautiful sunsets. It is a fantastic property with a great staff and amazing dive shop. I can't recommend it enough.

I am happy to answer your question. Tranquilseas would be perfect for a solo female traveler. My wife and I spent a week there on a Yale Educational Travel trip. There were several single females in attendance on that trip and we all had a great time. The food BTW is fantastic! There is a snorkel/dive operation right at the lodge and one can easily do everything from there. No car needed (or even advisable), as there are plentiful taxis. No reason to leave the lodge except perhaps for an island tour one day. Do consider the incredible submarine opportunity on Roatan, unique in the world (you can Google this). Very expensive but one of the most incredible things we have ever done. Do one of the longer trips, not the shortest one. Very comfortable and safe. One can snorkel from the beach since the reef is very close by, but taking the frequent boat excursions from the lodge is much better. They go to the best places, which are quite wonderful. One of the best remaining coral reefs in the world. Enjoy. If you want to swim with the dolphins at another nearby resort reserve ahead.
