I found this hostel after spending a night at a different one near by... And so glad I found Sophie and Buena Onda! I was only going to stay 2-3 nights and stayed 11. Friendly, only 5 min walk to west end, safe, clean. Hammocks up stairs, hot water shower, wifi, tv room and good hang out vibe. Thanks for...

Sophie the owner is from Spain and came to Roatan to scuba dive and never left. Great energy here. I'm an American that's been to 40 countries and all 7 continents, stay in hostels everywhere and this one is top notch. Wifi is ok, non existent in your rooms. Bunk beds are what you expect for $9 USD a night....

Stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm. No AC, but it did have a fan in the room that kept it cool enough to sleep. I’d recommend keeping the door shut. I woke up one morning to find a fiddler crab in my bed. Seriously. The kitchen was spacious with a fridge available. WiFi speed was not so good. The...

We stayed 4 nights in the biggest private room which was maybe a bit expensive. But considering general prices on the island, I guess 40$ was okay. The room is big, the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot and powerfull and bathroom is perfectly clean. Anyway the hostel is great. It is really easy to go to the beach....

It was a 10 min walk from the main area which is nice to get away from all the craziness. It's not the best looking place but the privacy was great. I stayed in the private room and it was simple but good. You have the main gas station right next door with working ATM which is convenient. I normally...

I just stayed the one night. The reception and checking in was a bit of a faff.... no matter how many times i rang that bell... no one came... Anyway, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the showers are hot, the lounge area is great to relax in (internet has weak signal everywhere else which is frustrating but...

Wonderfully helpful friendly service. Hostel is a little way away from the beach and all the action, but only a short walk. Lovely setting and fantastic common areas. Downside... Dorms are hot and fans don't reach if you're on the bottom bunks. Wifi connection is not good and only works in certain areas at certain times.

Great staff and security here. It is a 10 min walk to West End Beach and has a very nice porch area. Bring lots of bug spray! We got bitten the F up. Our friend fell asleep on a hammock and his back looks like 4 cats made love on it. The showers and bathroom are what you would expect...

Stayed here for a few nights before going to Utila! We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and everyone was incredibly friendly. The accommodations were very basic - we stayed in the dorm. It was exactly what I expected: lockers, bunk-beds, ceiling fans. We absolutely loved the tree-fort area and spent most of our time up there relaxing in the hammocks. The...

My mom and I went there thinking we would stay for a night until we found a place better suited to our desires, but we ended up staying 5! Sophie is incredibly friendly, she makes you feel right at home and is always smiling and willing to answer any of your questions. The bed we slept on was very comfortable...
