We had the king ocean view, the room itself was very small with no balcony but it was clean and suited our needs as we spent most of our days exploring and at the beach / restaurants in half moon bay. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet after around 8-9pm (right above the restaurant/bar which wasn’t super busy but did play music we could hear in the room).

Dania was exceptional at helping us arrange all of our adventures and answering any questions we had. The location was not on a beach but is oceanfront with some (slippery) access to the water. The pool was refreshing but we got eaten up by bugs when we were in it during the afternoon. The sunset was beautiful, there were always lounge chairs available and it was a short 5 min walk to half moon bay beach where you could rent a chair for the day, along with lots of great places to get food and drinks and the water taxi to west bay. We had the included breakfast at the hotel a couple of times— though it was only available 730-830am and you didn’t have any options for the food—we slept in and missed it a couple of times, and opted to get breakfast in half moon bay which was super convenient!

We were looking for a quiet, clean place to stay at a reasonable price in the West End. Lands End lived up to these expectations. Lands End is a ten minute walk from Half Moon Beach and all the good restaurants the West End offers. It is far enough away from the evening action if you are not a party hound. Splurge on an ocean front room - we thoroughly enjoyed the hammock, the surf and the sunsets, The resort provides a basic breakfast, bar and food service until 8pm, and a saltwater pool (cleaned weekly). Staff was friendly; Dania can take care of tour plans and airport transportation if needed. Lands End is NOT a 5 star resort (it does not pretend to be). We give a five star rating, because it is an excellent budget choice. We stayed for 2 weeks and recommend room 6 if you don't mind 2 flights of stairs.

We felt welcome here from the minute we arrived. Dania promptly greeted us and showed us to our room and shared her WhatsApp info should we have any needs. Melissa greeted us each morning for breakfast. Breakfast allowed us to experience a 'taste of Roatan'. Debra was always ready to ensure we had a great dinner if we were on property. We did explore the area and often at dinner out. This is a classic island resort. Not highly upscale instead welcoming and relaxing. It is enough to West End to walk yet remote enough to be away from the business of West End. Also had the opportunity to meet the owner. I was delighted to brag to the owner about the wonderful staff at this resort.

If you venture off site to eat, be sure to visit Loretta's Island Cooking (Cash only but so worth it!), The Argentinian Grill, and Sandy Buns (for breakfast).

I have known Lands End for decades, I have been there with my family, my friends, I have frequented it when I was managing a tourist newspaper, I have sent tourists there on several occasions because I collaborate with two local tour agencies. This afternoon, after about 3 years of not being able to go, I was happy to enter this place again. By chance, a person I have known for several years came to serve me, very kindly, I ordered a coffee, as it was taking a while to arrive, she told me that I could go sit down, she would bring it to the table. After waiting a few more minutes, I called some friends with whom we had dinner plans and suggested that I join them at Lands End, it wasn't long before sunset. The coffee hadn't arrived yet so I started walking towards a table to sit down when a woman, I don't know if she was the owner or the manager, asked me if I was staying in one of the rooms there. I told her no, I apologized for my English and pronunciation, after asking her if she could understand Spanish I saw her facial expressions and attitude worsen. She ended by telling me that this place doesn't only sell coffee, and she showed me to the exit of the place. I am never against any business policy, especially if it is an establishment that also works as a hotel, I understand that it may have stricter rules. But why did they accept my coffee order then? They made me wait just to treat me this way? I repeat that I am not against any policy but this lady did not take 10 seconds to understand me or listen to me and she kicked me out of the place with a classism that made me feel very bad. It hurts me a lot that she ruined my conception of the Lands End that I remembered and that I wanted to live again, but she will surely be very happy that she will never see me again. I hope that Google Translate was able to choose the right words to translate my feelings and intentions.

Response from Nataliia Day, Owner at Lands End Resort
Responded 4 weeks ago
Dear Agostinosarnari, thank you for your Wonderfull review but you being dishonest here. You behave like crying baby here not mature person/man. First of all we have policy what we enforce here at Lands End . We have entrance fee for using our facility and pool , it's 20$. When you come to check on coffee you were ask" if you guest of hotel and stay in resort" as security for us very important . You answer that you are guest and you don't stay at hotel . After hearing your answer you were notified about our policy and trust me expression of person who spoken to you would never change of you speaking English or Spanish or being Spanish native. That absolutely your own big imagination. Instead of being offended you should apologize and make it right as you were notified about our policies and fee. Our entrance fee also listed on entrance board . So don't make anyone guilty of something you could read and accept and make things work. Unfortunately you didn't intend to follow our policies so you decided to leave as you wanted just coffee and didn't plan to spend any money here from your answer. By the way Bartender assumed you know our policies that's why she accepted order for coffee. We been have this policy for 8 years so its strange that you didn't know them by being valued customers prior to with referrals . We apologize for your misunderstanding and hopefully you can find your happy & tranquil place. If one day you decided come back and being valued again it's totally fine with us no matter what and how.....Our security priority is one of the main conception at Lands End, that is the reason for entrance fee and we are very sorry we were not able to serve you just coffee that day.....

My girlfriend booked me into the family room at Land's End as a surprise as I was travelling to see her. She booked the family bungalo as it was listed as being pet friendly, and I was travelling with my medical service dog. It appeared like a good fit on booking.com and for just over $51 USD it seemed like a great deal.

When I arrived I had to ask around for how to check in, as there was no open reception. A woman then approached and was not hiding her distaste for the presence of my service dog. I was then bluntly informed that I would be charged a $50 fee for her, and then an additional $10 charge per night she stayed with me.

The woman then told me she is not able to take payment from the details on booking.com with her system (red flag). So we spent another 20 minutes sorting out differnet payment. Once the invoice was sent out with all the extra fees, this $51 room came to over $150.

I was taken to the room by the woman's daughter, and she was very friendly and chatty which was a welcome change to the atmosphere of the common area. I was taken to the bungalo, which was actually a small building, of which the "family bungalo" was just a room that encompassed half of it. It was more of a dorm room in regards to the size and furnature. When i asked her for the WiFi password she told me that there is only WiFi in the common area, not in the rooms.

Other thigs I noted were that the message regarding the complimentary breakfast tells you that there is no choice of what they offer, it is decided for you, and that if you want more than one cup of coffee it will be at an additional charge.

The location is wonderful and from reading previous reviews and seeing the pictures, I can imagine that this used to be a very nice place. I can only speculate that with a year being affected by COVID-19, the place has been neglected.

One final point I will make is that the next day when I was at the airport, i was approached by a couple of girls who asked me if I stayed here. We compared our experiences (which were very similar) and then another man who stayed that evening came over and added his stories of the place to our list. A very surreal experience.

Review is only on the restaurant. Food was great but it took over 90 minutes to get dinner. Several people are working, but for some reason, no one bothered to help the bartender serve. I'm all for a slow pace while on island time but we were the only group in the place and it took forever. When the food started coming it took fifteen minutes to get everyone their food. Then the calamari came out after we had all finished eating, we ordered it as an appetizer. If you do try it be ready to wait.
Unfortunately we won't be back. There are many other options on West Bay that provide much better service with food that is just as good if not much better.

The resort is in a perfect place where it’s far away enough from all of the bars and restaurants to be completely quiet at night but it’s a short walking distance at the same time. The breakfast was great and different every day. The resort is right on the ocean so the view is beautiful from the rooms and the bar/dining area. Very friendly and welcoming staff. 10/10, would absolutely recommend!

Our room was clean, the bed was really comfortable and the ocean view was incredible. We were right at the oceans edge. We had hot water in the shower (which was not the case everywhere we learned talking to other folks on the island). The owner (Natalia) was great, she was always around and easy to talk to.
It was an easy 4 minute walk in to the center of West end, and if you ever needed cabs were easy to come by.
The food was ok. Altho 3 times over the week what we ordered wasn't what we got. Banya (from the bar/restaurant) was lovely and had our order right every time. In the morning the restaurant wasn't always open on time, and even when it was, the coffee was not great. It was weak and often cold, and powdered milk was used instead of actual milk. Coffee is a big deal to me, so this didn't sit well. There were a few cafes close, so coffee/breakfast just became an off-site activity.
All in, if I'm back in roatan I'd like to stay there again.

Dania is an amazing host. She went well beyond any expectation helping us navigate Roatan, showing us options for activities and even helped us boost our rental car when it died and made my son some soup when he was sick (from a restaurant in town). Thank you for an amazing trip

My wife and I traveled to Roatan to enjoy a vacation with a few friends of ours. One stayed in Lands End with us, but had their own room. The rest of the group stayed in a rental at Gibson Bight.

This was an amazing experience for us. Quiet and far enough from west end to avoid heavy foot and motor traffic. Close enough to be a nice walk into west end.

Natalia, Dania, and Chenelle were amazing hosts to us the entire time we were there. They made breakfast every morning you want which was great! The sunset views with waves crashing in the volcanic rock were beautiful. When we got back after dark we would just lay out on the deck and listen to the ocean while looking at the stars.

Speak with the desk when you arrive. They can schedule everything for you on your time if you want. Deep tissue massage, snorkeling, fishing, diving, ziplining, and island tours. While we were there they did on site covid testing for the 24h required test prior to departing too. You just need to ask them to schedule it for you.

Our room was not a water front, but it was a 2nd floor bungalow type room up a spiral staircase. We could still see and hear the ocean from our room though. The room was spacious and everything functioned. Wifi, TV, water fixtures, lights. But we rarely used the wifi, never used the TV, and only were there to sleep and take showers.

I have read the reviews about wifi not working and not enjoying the stay because of accommodations. I would say to just take a second and remember where you are. You're on an island in the Caribbean Sea that is supplied by the mainland. The people there work hard for you, most of them for 12 hours or more a day. Appreciate what you have and that you get to be there to experience it. Lose your phone, your wifi, your laptop, and just take everything in and enjoy it.
