We had three nights here as part of a tour of Kerala. Jose and Daisy are lovely and were very welcoming. Don't miss the cookery demo and plantation tour (you can walk round the plantation on your own but the explanations are great from Jose). The food is amazing. A tranquil haven!

Jose and Daisy were the perfect hosts. The food was amazing and Daisy's cooking lesson is a must. Jose's tour of the plantation was fascinating. Their hose is offered as your 'second home' and they really mean if there is anything you want simply ask. It was Beyond a treat to experience real Kerala family food and their genuine care...

Jose and Daisy are the perfect hosts. There do everything they can to make your stay in their home perfect. We were the only guests during our stay so meal times etc were when we wanted them. If there are more people staying it would have to be an agreement between all those staying. Jose does inform you at the...

When we checked in one of the first things the owner Jose said to us was - this is not 5* accommodation so don't expect 5*. Considering you are charging 5* prices frankly I do expect 5* accommodation. The rooms were spacious and clean but were crawling with beetles. They were everywhere it was gross! Jose was very dominating and...

The owners Jose & Daisy were so welcoming & the food was excellent. Despite the power cut due to a heavy storm Daisy still managed to give us a cookery lesson. The demo by Jose about rubber production was really interesting & we were allowed to wander anywhere round the rubber plantation - lovely butterflies & insects to be seen.

Jose and Daisy welcomed us warmly in to their home for a relaxing afternoon touring their property and a most delicious Keralan lunch. I can't speak highly enough about their hospitality, a real joy and one of the highlights of our holiday touring South India. Thank you Jose and Daisy!

Nov 2015 I read somewhere that if invited into a Kerala household the people treat you like family, this was certainly true when staying with Jose & Daisy’s at Mundackal Estate where we were welcomed in like old friends. We toured the Estate with Jose who pointed out the vast variety of fare growing in the plantation with his own...

We had a great stay here. Jose and Daisy made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent. We had a good cookery lesson. There was a great variety and loads to eat. Jose took us around the plantation, it was a lovely informative tour. Take away breakfasts for gluten free people benefit from discussion with Daisy. I'm not sure...

Not a lot to add to all the previous reviews. All spot on - (except those that were "disappointed"). Jose & Daisy put a lot of effort into making you feel right at home and we had very interesting conversations with them and the other guests. How else are you going to get insights into the Indian way of life...

The appeal of Mundackal was staying with a local family who had lived there for generations. It was a working plantation, growing bananas, rubber, coconuts, cashews, cardamon and black pepper. many of these ingredients went into the excellent dishes that Daisy produced and she also gave a culinary class to explain, although we didn't quite get it right when we tried...
