This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff. Safe parking for your car and it is possible to camp in big garden if you are an overlander. They also have a pool. It is about four kilometers to the Golden temple.

The good - Quirky - Charming, attentive staff - Decent rooms - Delicious food The bad - wifi kept dropping out - expensive - isolated & difficult to find. Town centre is a 10 min tuk tuk ride, but I had a lot of trouble finding a tuk tuk driver who knew where the guesthouse was and who would agree...

We are very sorry for the inconvenience you faced. Tuk tuk drivers usually drop off people before the temple as no vehicle is allowed after the Town Hall. Regarding the charges of the tuk tuks, we'll make sure you don't face such kind of a trouble the next time you visit us !! Thank you for your response !! :)

On my way to and back from Dharamsala with a Danish group we stopped at Mrs. Bandharis Guesthouse. We were all taken very good care of from the beginning to the end. An oasis in the middle of the chaotic Amritsar. Nice clean rooms. We ordered evening meal in advance for both visits and on each occasion we were treated...

I stayed in Mrs Bhandari's Guest House for a few nights with some business colleagues. We were working in New Delhi, and decided to take the train up to Amritsar to see the Golden temple and the Wagha Border Ceremony. The guesthouse is green and lush, with cows grazing in the small courtyard. Rooms were comfortable and the meals were...

We stayed for three nights/four days following a trekking holiday to Nanda Devi. Wonderful oasis with excellent choice of menu. Interesting 1930 ambiance. Swimming pool is a good size. Would highly recommend.

Quite a different experience from a conventional hotel stay. Seems to have been a military base in the past. Basic but spacious, comfortable room. In a quiet area away from the bustle but not too far from the centre.

Yes, the guest house had been a kind of a military base in the Indo-Pak war. Thank you for your kind response !! :)

Mrs Bhandari's Guesthouse is an old colonial building that has you expecting Judi Dench running during the time of Colonial India. Covered in ivy it once was a wonderful home. Now a bit jaded is nonetheless welcoming a a nice clean place to stay. £28 a room, cheap and good indian/western food and beer. Well located for the sights of...

Spent two days and one night at Mrs Bhandari's and it was more than adequate. It might be a little run down and worn around the edges but a packs a punch in terms of hospitality and calm in the chaos that is Amritsar. Mrs Bhandari is a gem and her staff courteous, helpful and attentive. We had lunch, dinner...

The homestay was a bit dissappointing at first sight: not so beautiful as you see on the photos. The garden and surrounding is a bit run down. Rooms are quite basic, no much special but VERY clean. A great value is the setting: quite peacefull area a few Miles away from busy town. The staff was very flexible and helpfull...
