My favorite on the island ! Romantic magic place ! Family business, bungalows on the beach. You sleep with the sound of waves crashing on the beach and tropical wildlife, you have a candle dinner bare feet in the sand. Make sure you try the Lemongrass grilled fish ! You wish you could stay more and are even tempted not...

We stayed there for 11 days. It was very quiet and cozy (we came after full moon and Mai Pen Rai is located on the more quiet Eastern side of the island anyway), just perfect for our family stay. Food is great, beach is fantastic (though a bit pebble-ish) and an amazingly relaxed over-all atmosphere. The location is a bit...

The not-so-good: One staff member was really unfriendly. When she checked us in there was no greeting or smile. She was rude. When I asked about the wifi (which they advertise having) she scoffed at me and simply said "no wifi" while picking her nose and staring into the distance. The good: We had a bungalow on the rocks which...

Stayed in Than Sadet for 8 nights and found the area very peaceful and an ideal place for an enthusiastic amateur photographer like myself , Restaurant is nice and the service is like the atmosphere this beach has , laid back ! Bungalows on the rocks are a must for watching the sometimes moody ocean and frequent thunder and lightning...

When we originally planned our trip in April 2016, we read the reviews on this place and thought it sounded perfect for the price of 6 people for 3 nights. Don't get me wrong, the views are amazing! However climbing over and under slippery rocks (see the pictures) near the sea was far from ideal especially with large back packs....

We visited the place during rain season, but were quite "unlucky" regarding the rain. But we felt as if we were the only people in the bay. Once in a while a visiting boat, but that was it. Our house was opposite of the restaurant (at that time the only open place) and we had a very quiet and pleasant...

I visited Mai Pen Rai for only a day and a half, but I would have stayed longer if I had the chance. It's truly peaceful and the bay is absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly. I stayed in a beach bungalow, which was very comfortable. There's just something about waking up and walking 20m further for a swim...

We were there for three days. The staff was not very friendly and the Bungalows were messy and smelled very bad. The Food was okay, but not the best There were also some giant lizards, and the sea was a bit filthy.

This was my fifth visit to Mai Pen Rai Bungalows, and I found everything I was looking for in a great vacation. With the recent paving of the road to Than Sadet, getting to Mai Pen Rai is now a breeze. As always, the beach was pristine. It was my first visit in September, and I found the water particularly...
