Detailed Reviews
Phi Phi is so beautiful, and it’s a tropical island. Thus, it’s hot and humid and hotel maintenance is not easy. I gave three stars because the view is beautiful and the staff is nice and responsive. Any time we asked for something, like additional water, staff responded within 5 min. They were kind and considerate, and professional. Thank you!
My recommendations for management would be to better maintain the hotel. Our air conditioner wasn’t working, and the repairman came and had to clean it for an hour. It was full of dust and mold. The management needs to have the AC units cleaned regularly. They also put mothballs in the trash cans. We didn’t figure this out for awhile or we would have thrown them out, but our room smelled like mothballs the whole time. This can be handled in a better way. I’ve traveled quite a bit in developing countries, while I’m pretty forgiving, there’s no good excuse for not keeping the AC units clean and free of mold and for stinking up the rooms with moth balls. Your ratings will much improve with some small adjustments!

The room: We chose a 'pool access room' and requested a room closer to the end near the cliff. We were lucky and were given room 3002 which has its own decking area directly into the pool. The view from the room and private decking area was incredible - I have never seen views like this overlooking the beach and the sea. We could have spent all day sat here admiring the beautiful views! Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was nice but shower a little intermittent with the temperature.
The location: Phi Phi is a beautiful island and has something for everyone. The location of this hotel for us was perfect - it is at the very end of Tonsai beach next to the cliff, it is only a 10/15 minute stroll along the beach pathway (which is a lovely walk) to the main centre where there are hundreds of bars and restaurants! There are a couple of bars and restaurants near the hotel and we loved stopping off at the chilled out Sunshine bar on the way back to the hotel. You can also access the other beach Loh Dalum Bay (another gorgeous beach) through a 5 minute cut through pathway.
The hotel itself is a little dated and doesn't look very appealing from the outside. The breakfast area is a huge room that is a little bit like a school dining room. In the day, boat loads of day trippers are dropped off here and have lunch at the hotel which is very busy and a bit chaotic - so it's best to avoid at this time (but there are so many places on the island to visit that you can spend time elsewhere).
I would recommend this hotel purely for the views and location. If the hotel had a bit of a makeover and improved it's breakfast facilities then this could be a 5 star hotel.

+1
We must have had an updated room as we didnt experience "as much" as these reviewers did. Amazing room, nice towels, nice shower, ample supplies, great service, breakfast was really good with lots to pick from.
Why only 3 stars? Because it was dirty!! Floors are filthy, windows and doors FULL of greasy finger prints, Mirrors and windows scratched up because they dont know how to get difficult grime off, counter tops were sticky....just gross! Hotel management needs to get rid of cleaning staff and get new ones that work harder. This beautiful room will be run down in no time.
No bar, no ice, no drinks, only 2 bottles of water for your whole stay (save the bottles and refill them in the breakfast area)

It’s a 12 minute walk from the pier and island center, If you are traveling with heavy bags you can schedule a cart to pick up the bags on the pier. The rooms with direct pool access are huge and the privacy are not compromised since they have curtains. We saw no monkeys on the hotel premises during our stay.
Free water bottles everyday and you can also buy beverages and put on the minibar. There’s a few mini markets and 7eleven nearby.
The breakfast is good.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is awesome as it’s an easy and flat 15 min walk from the centre of town but on the quiet end of the island. We had a pool access room which was huge, great pool and amazing views. Breakfast decent with a large variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool tiles require some maintenance, but did not impact our enjoyment of the pool. Highly recommended place to stay

Currently at the hotel, 3rd day of 4 night stay, The manager and the staff attitude is appalling. The only lift is not fit for purpose and broke down between floors, it was a terrible experience and the staff laughed and mocked despite the obvious distress of those trapped in the lift. After calling the hotel Manager Mr Jimmy there was a weak apology but he did not approach the member of staff and there has been no apology for the member of staff Mr Man’s behaviour. The lift struggles to move with more than 3 people and is clearly not fit for purpose.
I have just returned to the room, the bed has sort of been made by just throwing back the bed cover. The room service is shocking! They have removed the dirty towels but not cleaned the bathroom and not cleaned or mopped the floors.
The breakfast lacks variety and quality.
The pool has tiles missing from the floor of the pool.
The only positive is that the room is spacious and the view is amazing from the hotel and it is right on the beach.
I am a seasoned traveller and appreciate that sometimes the pictures can present the hotel in good light, and it is often the positivity of staff and the management that make for a good experience, however this is definitely NOT the case in this instance. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to checking out!

I spent alot of time thinking about what I was going to say in this review. As a customer who read many wonderful reviews and viewed all the misleading pictures of a well maintained hotel prior to booking this place I felt cheated to find this place is nothing like that . If I'm being blunt , this place is a bit of a dump . Hard beds , like I'd get a better sleep in prison hard beds . Poor housekeeping : dirty mirrors , dirty bathrooms , dirty a/c unit and smelly . Bad maintenance lots tiles missing in the pool and no grout anywhere which has led to mold & green slime growing in between the tiles . On the bright side I can report no bed bugs in our room . Breakfast was nothing to write home about , it was all hilal food , no bacon and lots of flies !! The omelettes were very good though made to order . The guy working the egg station was the only person who seemed to take pride in his work . He remembered our order by day 2 and was fast & friendly . In closing this is probably one of the most depressing hotels I've ever stayed at do yourself a favour and learn from my mistake and don't stay here , you will regret every waking moment of your time here if you do .

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my fiancee in December. Location was great, a 10 min walk from the main streets so nice and quiet in the evenings. We stayed in a room with pool access which was lovely but probably not needed when the beach is right outside the hotel! Hot water in our room was a bit hit and miss but it didnt take away from the stay. Breakfast was also a good choice.

After reading the reviews of this hotel, I was pretty scared for what we would experience. There really aren’t any good options on Ko Phi Phi so we went ahead and booked this hotel.
The rooms and hotel are definitely worn down but it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. There was also a slight scent to the room that we got used to.
The location is difficult to beat because it is a 5-10 minute walk from town at the end of the road. This means you have easy access to town while still having a quiet place to sleep.
Since there aren’t many good options on the island, I would recommend this place for a short stay. It was more than sufficient for our one night on the island.

Positives; fresh egg station making eggs how you like at breakfast. 2 free bottles of water each day. Quiet. Good location. Great view.
Negatives: tiles missing from pool, no grout in tiles in pool, pool needs cleaning, house keeping was terrible 7 day stay didn't wipe down sink, shower or toilet, didn't change bed sheets, bathroom mirror & facets dirty. Beds hard as a rock. Rated 3 star.... Maybe 10 years ago more like a two star now. Water leaks in dining area. Ceiling water stained and missing in areas of hall to rooms. Description on here says brand new... Ya 15 years ago. Pics are from when hotel was new not now

You can either walk (45 minutes) or get a long tail taxi boat. We walked and it was a beautiful walk - you walk all the way to the south end of Tonsai beach and then continue along a coastal path through parts of forest and beach. It is not a strenuous walk but does require walking up some rocks.
No, unless you need help with carrying your suitcases. Then just let them know when will you be arriving and they will meet you at the pier.
