Despite reading all the bad reviews, my boyfriend and I checked into the Sunset Buri Resort for a 500 baht fan room for one night. While the room is pretty basic, there is wifi, a refrigerator, access to a swimming pool and a pretty good state of cleanliness. After the first night, we decided to stay for another week and... Liked: location on the beach front. With bars and restaurants very close by. Has a swimming pool, hotel food wasnt great. Disliked: smelt musty which is a common smell in Asian accommodations probably due to dampness. Found two GIANT SPIDERS in our bathroom due to open windows that cant shut and a hole next to the toilet in the wall.... More

The room was spacious and had a fridge, TV and hot water - all for 500B. Realistically, a bargain on face value. Problem is the resort isn't a resort. It's a collection of huts, a hotel and a swimming pool. Stayed here for 6 days and moved room on day 3 just so we could have fresh bedding and wifi... More

After choosing this place randomly as it looked nice from the street I decided to stay two nights pay 500bht per night for a fan or 1000bht for air con. (really reasonable for the area) I now understand why. Firstly the air con didn't even work and the fan was pretty pathetic as well. The bed didn't feel clean and... More

The reason my friend and I decided to stay here was because it was so cheap, we paid 500B a night for both of us making it cheaper than most hostels in Koh Tao. We are on a budget and are used to staying in not the best places, this was just another bad hotel. I wasn't particularly phased by... More

We wandered in here after our journey to koh Tao, tired, but the place looked very nice and well kept from the outside. The pool looks very inviting as well. We booked and paid for one night. Big mistake. The rooms were so filthy we left after one hour - no refund, just grabbed our passports and left. I am... More

We had a look round for quite a while and managed to find this resort. On first impressions it looked alright we aren't very hard to please. The first we went out and the second two we stayed in. The thumping music starting at 7pm and went on till 4am on both nights. I don't mind a bit of music... More

We wandered in here, tired after the journey and, as other people have said, it all looked pretty and nice, so we booked for one night. But on closer inspection, as noted by others, the place is filthy. The floor is dirty - my feet felt dirtier after i had showered - the balcony is covered in dust, leaves, general... More

Spent one night here after finding it on a whim just off the boat. Seems very pretty oh the outside, but upon arrival the staff were dismissive and incompetent to the point of being actively rude, the rooms were mouldy, and it is just off the beaches party area so there was thumping bass and fireworks all night. In the... More

This place appears nice on first glance but do not be fooled! It is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. Our room was filthy. What appeared to be blood on the curtains and walls. Squashed insects on the walls. There was a disgusting stain on the bed sheet which did not look like it had been... More
