The only reason I've lost a rating on the Chintakiri is due to the problems we had when we first arrived. The problems (detailed below) really should of been addressed BFORE the arrival of guests. OK, we were given a very warm welcome at Reception and showed up our bungalow I now call it a bungahigh), and I do mean...

Chintakiri resort is a very friendly place to stay in Koh Tao. We stayed here for one week and did not regret it. By booking a room in the upper part of the domain, we had a sort of bungalow with air con, a comfortable bed and a very nice shower and bathroom. What's more, the bungalow was hidden in...

The room was not clean. There were stains in the bed-sheets and hair on the toilet. The sink had traces showing that it was not cleaned properly for a long time. There is a CRT TV in the room which is not acceptable for a hotel at this price range. It would even be better if they didn't have a...

We went at the worst time in 20 years, january 2017, when flooding occurred throughout southern Thailand during the dry season. The owner of the hotel was very kind and helped us through this rough time. She also changed us to another room because of noise from the terrible neighboring High Bar (a lair of druggies to avoid at all...

We stayed here as a young couple as part of our honeymoon. Originally we had booked to stay for 6 nights and ended up staying for 9 nights! Chintakiri is a blissful hillside "resort" with one of the most beautiful views on Koh Tao. I'll bullet point my reviews below to make it easier to skip to info you may...

Lots of exercise but worth it! Wonderful staff, meals , peace & quiet and out of the world views. Rooms are also very special. The high bar is fun too and only a few steps away. Rooms are very modern and showers are actually heated with heat waste from air conditioner an interesting twist

Me and my girlfriend visited Chintakiri for three nights and afterwards we came to the following conclusion: 1) it was the three best days of our trip to Thailand, and 2) should have stayed longer. Let's start from the location. Chintakiri Resort is located on a hill above the main road which goes near the waterline. This means that there...

Pros: incredible pool, amazing views from the pool & from your room, private balcony off each room, cleanliness of rooms, good restaurant attached to hotel, breakfast included, friendly staff, short walk to part of town with more restaurants, bars, dive schools, etc. Cons: shower water doesn't get warm/hot (we asked a couple times about this and they tried their best...

We loved staying here. The resort is nestled up high on top of a hill, hidden amongst the tropical trees and natural beauty of the island. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the views were stunning and the staff were AMAZING! Thai hospitality at its best; they were always so warm and helpful and even went above and beyond for...

The staff at Chintakiri were very friendly. I particularly liked the way they were not so strict about ordering only one item each from the breakfast menu (our room included breakfast). They were good with organizing a boat trip for us at a reasonable rate. The hotel also picked us up at the pier and dropped us off there on...
