Baan Talay is an excellent little resort located in the hills of Koh Tao. The staff are very friendly, the restaurant has tasty and affordable food and the whole resort has amazing views of the ocean. The accomodation is simple yet elegant and cozy. The resort is located a little far from the main town areas, but that is part...

I wanted a quiet experience, away from the crush of tourists, and I found it here. The owners and staff are welcoming and friendly, ready to help with anything you need. Their dive shop on the coast is great, as is the yoga classes taught on a beautiful veranda overlooking the forest and ocean below. I was there during a...

This hotel is located far from the city and far from the beaches even if they have a "beach" (difficult to access and dangerous to get in the water due to rocks and current) The rooms are very nice (breathtaking view) and it is very quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The closest beach is Aow Leuk beach....

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feed back. It's unfortunate that so many still throw their waste in the ocean which ends up not only in the ocean where it cause damage to marine life but also on the beaches and land. There are regular clean-ups around the island, but unfortunately that is not enough with what is washed up...

Baan Thalay suffers from being very from town, on difficult roads. That would not matter so much if there were regular transportation from the hotel to anywhere else. One is told that there are shuttles form the hotel into town in the morning and the afternoon, the latter heading down at 2.30 pm. Further, in every room, there is an...

The resort was over away from the hustle bustle and hard to get to and from although they had a taxi and once you are there you dont want to go anywhere else! At the top of a picturesque scene of clear blue waters I did my yoga classes with squirrels running about then i would wander down to the...

This is one of the most beautiful, peaceful and friendly places I have ever stayed at. If you are looking for somewhere secluded then look no further than Baan Talay. I simply do not understand some of the reviews here, particularly related to the staff. The ladies working at the resort are lovely and can not do enough to help;...

We booked our stay in Koh Tao directly with the hotel, and we arrived there after twenty days spent roaming Thailand from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, Erawan National Park, Kampheng Phet, Lampang, Sukhotai, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, trekking in the jungle, internal flights, long hours on buses, scorching ferries etc.... When we entered the premises, my son looked at me and...

1.5 stars for the rude, untrained and provincial staff. They are annoyed by any request and will laugh and talk among themselves in Thai when asked a question. Only one speaks English sufficiently, for instance the word " tea pot " is not understood by most. Loud construction noise! Beware of the bungalow highest up the hill. Workers blabber and...

Our stay at Baan Talay in Koh Tao had a rough start. We had been on Koh Tao for a few weeks at this point and we made the trek over to Mae Haad where we waited for a while for the driver to pick us up because they offer free transportation to the hotel from the pier. (NOTE: This...

Our stay at Baan Talay was such a mess. As we arrived, I called them to pick us up as we have free pick up transfer. The driver was supposed to arrived in 15 min, he arrived after 45min. As we knew the place is a bit far and in the hills, we asked the driver if they have scooters...
