This place is the only place you should go in Pai. The staff are great and Zeen is cool. She nearly zapped me with a bug zapper, but I think it was out of love. Anyway, I’ll be back here. And you should come here too. Let’s get that rating up to 9.5, then, who knows, maybe more

Not much for me to review here because I didn’t spend much time in the common area, which seems to ‘make’ this hostel. From the look and sound of it, the people that come to this hostel and socialize in the common room are what make this hostel great. My girlfriend and I got a private room because we just needed some time away from socializing. There’s a pool table, large couch, hammocks, and plenty of other great features in the common area. I wish we were in the mood to hang out there longer. The walking street is a block away and the hostel is super secluded being located at the end of a dead end. We rented the 3 person room with a full sized bed on the lower floor and a queen in the loft area. It was quite nice. That all said, we enjoyed our stay. Nothing bad to write about it other than maybe it being slightly pricey for what you get. It did the job, though, and it did it well.

if it wasn't hard enough to say goodbye to pai already, leaving this hostel made it even harder. The location is practically perfect as it is so close to the walking street in pai and all the shops etc yet it is removed enough that it is quiet. We stayed in a private room which was so spacious and clean with great air con. The whole vibe and social area of the hostel was so chilled just like the rest of pai and great for making friends. We loved that there was an organised bar crawl every night but pre drinks would end at 9pm so if you didn't want to go, it would be quiet so you could sleep. I can't recommend it enough.. I will be back!

Stayed here on a recommendation and it was great. My girlfriend and I booked a private room and it was spectacular. Very clean and spacious with a twin bed on the first floor, queen bed in the loft, and private full bath. Pool table in the common room was lots of fun and the happy hour was great. We went to the fire show with the hostel and that was a very cool experience. Can’t say enough good things about the hostel!

Perfect location, atmosphere and staff. Can not recommend enough. I initially stayed at pai circus but moved here after getting recommendations, best decision I could’ve possibly made. Give this place a chance, you won’t regret it!

I had such a great week staying in a private room at Common Grounds! If you're looking for somewhere to make fast friends while you're in Pai, this is the place. It's tucked away right off of the walking street but away from the bars and such so you don't hear any outside noise but are only steps away from yummy street food every evening. The room is simple but clean and comfy, with 2 beds in a loft style. The window is big and I had a lovely view of the river and greenery from the bed on the bottom as I took an afternoon nap most days. The staff and volunteers are super cool and welcoming, and, although I usually steer clear of pub crawls, I found myself going out with them every night at 9 just so that I could keep chatting with my newfound friends. They do a good job of clearing out the party at 9 to the crawl and enforcing a quiet time in the common area from around 10:30 on, so if you'd rather have a quiet night in that isn't an issue. This is a social hostel, not a full on party hostel, thankfully. The volunteers also lead daily excursions to do things like going tubing, to the pool (I LOVED relaxing at Fluid), to the conservation area/elephant sanctuary, and even to a jungle rave one night. I really wanted to stay a few more days, but they're very popular and were booked out, so I moved elsewhere. I was really bummed, but they're so welcoming that they encourage people to still come hang out and go on the crawls with them even if you're not staying there anymore, which I happily took them up on. I can't wait to go back someday!

Great service. Great location. Excellent atmosphere. Would highly recommend staying here. After just a few days here, I feel everyone knows your name. Having traveled for a couple weeks solo, it was really nice and reassuring to walk into a place and have everyone (staff and guests) saying hi. I used the private rooms. They were clean and stylist done in a modern minimalist way. Every night at 9pm the hostel bar and front desk shuts down. Everyone joins for a bar crawl. It's really nice and approachable. Air is the head manager on site. She's unbelievably nice and accommodating. I moved to a bungalow on the river after the hostel was fully booked (my mistake for not planning ahead) and Air was always accommodating when I returned to the bar to meet everyone each night. Only cons: wi-fi needs to improve. The network is patchy and needs investment. This is probably my favorite hostel of all time. Just an amazing culture. I highly recommend staying here

I originally booked just one night here, but just as the wifi password indicates, I ended up staying two more nights. The vibe here is really chill. You will meet people that just want to hang out, read a book, or people that want to socialize and drink. There is almost always someone playing pool or swinging on the hammocks. The location is right near the bus station and very close to local bars. The hostel does a great job at enforcing the quiet times (after 9 pm) so if you are waking up early the next morning you will actually get a good night's rest. I met the best people here and absolutely loved my stay. ALSO their resident doggo's are the icing on the cake <3

I stayed here as it has the most reviews combined with a high score on another forum and it ticked all the right boxes. Friendly and helpful staff as you walk, who have a nice sense of humour. A chilled out atmosphere in the day which moves towards that of a party environment as the evening commences. The good thing is however the hostel winds down at 9 with the workers taking everyone out on a bar crawl. There are activities on offer during the day (I didn't take advantage of these, but they are a great way to network). When the heavens opened and the streers flooded, the workers were happy to go and get food from the stalls outside. Two things to be mindful off, there is some pretty serious bugs in the area, a simple check of the shower will prevent the undesired experience of unwanted attention from others after screaming like a little girl when realising you've been sharing the shower with a cricket the size of an Olympic athletes foot. Secondly it is more expensive than most hostels, however it's central and in my view has nothing negative to note. An enjoyable experience l.

I really really loved this hostel & will always recommend it to anyone staying in Pai. Right outside the night market, super social vibe with awesome/clean dorm room& bathrooms (lockers as well). The bartenders are some of the friendliest and inclusive crew I have ever met - good pickins! Drinks are awesome, and you are allowed to bring your own food in. Activities are organized all the time, and bar staff really integrates themselves by asking guests all the time to come eat or play, etc.
