Love this place. Room was great - great size, great view of late, solid bathroom with flush toilet and separate shower area, hot water. Solid dining room with a lot to choose from. They'll do laundry onsite. The staff was fantastic. I rented a motorbike from them and wiped out (oops!!). They helped me get to the emergency room and...

Romlan has a lovely location on the shore of the lake, and the traditional Batak house is filled with charm and character. The same could be said of the staff, an amiable group. Meals served on the premises are pretty tasty too, ranging from classic Indonesian to standard Western fare. The fish curry stands out as the best, given the...

Very basic accommodation, but affordable and scenic. We loved the private balcony overlooking the lake - can't beat that view! The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed all the food at the restaurant (ate several breakfasts and lunches). We stayed a couple nights, but our room was not cleaned during our stay. We had some trouble getting the hot...

We spent 3 nights here in the Deluxe Batak house. Don't let this name fool you, it had a very sharp price and really good value, especially for TukTuk. If we would come back to lake Toba, we would definitely stay here again. The room: The Batak house is very charming, you feel like a Hobbit with the small entrance...

we stayed in comfort room, slightly bigger than the standard room, i love that got 2 single blanket instead of 1 big blanket, so no one can hoard the blanket, hehe. No air condition, no fan, but the temperature in Samosir need neither. Plus, enjoy the silent it, surprising made us sleep better. Internet is fine, restaurant is ok too....

One of the best Hotels I have ever been in SEA and it's not even that expensive. The view when you wake up is a paradise for city-eggs like me and the staff is amazing! Love you Anita and Rahmat! You were the best :) Besos desde Viena ♥️

We didn't know whether we should choose a Batak house at Lake Toba, because we were afraid that it might be uncomfy. After two other guesthouses were full, we found Romlan and later we were so happy that the first two didn't have room for us! The owner showed us two options facing the lake: A cheaper room and the...

I was asked many time in Medan and in Tuk Tuk why select Romlan Guesthouse? I guess they were all jealous about Romlan... However Romlan proof that u don't have to be big, to be good. U just have to be nice to people that u meet! My wife and I are not thrifty travelers, I wrote many email to...

We stayed there August 2011. Initially we chose this place expecting the clearest water. And it was! Located on a ledge Romlan is the best place to swim. Water was calm and clean, rapidly going down on the depth. Sleeping there is also great - houses are not close to the street. Staff was very lovely and unobtrusive. Rooms big...

My wife and me spent here 3 nights. We had a cosy bungalow with lake view, nice terasse, hot water and wi-fi. The staff was very friendly. Everything was just perfect. They organised transport to other places, scooter, cooked very tasty dishes and they all remembered our names. It was like coming home. We will definitely come back again:)
