Lake Nakuru Lodge earns rave reviews for its cleanliness and the stunning views from its spacious rooms, although some guests feel the decor could use a refresh. The picturesque location within Lake Nakuru National Park is highly praised for its proximity to wildlife, and the lively atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a memorable stay.
While the lodge offers a variety of amenities, including a pool and spa, some travelers consider it overpriced, especially given the limited food options.

As the second stop of our six-day safari, we reached this lodge from the Rhino Watch Lodge in just under four hours by safari jeep. Due to the convenient location within the park, we were very quickly in the middle of the action on our two game drives and were thus able to observe in detail the wide-ranging wildlife from hippos to rhinos to warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes and zebras in their natural habitat. Repeatedly entire hordes of baboons crossed our path with small and smallest descendants without fear. Resting in the lake, hundreds of flamingos and pelicans let the caravan pass, a white-tailed eagle eyed the surroundings from high up on a tree. Thanks to the free Wi-Fi, we were able to contact our loved ones in the whole complex via WhatsApp without any problems and send one or the other photo. On the extensive grounds with 90 individual cottages we had to travel from the entrance / restaurant to room 122, pretty much at the end of the lodge, already a few meters. Again, in our room 122, a fine mesh mosquito net protected our large double bed from unwanted visitors. We could easily hang our clothes on the provided hangers or put them in the compartments. Under the functional shower we could rinse the dust from the daytime stalk, for “cat washing” and other personal hygiene a separate sink was available. Again, a hot water bottle in bed, on the other hand, conveyed homely feelings, so that we could fall asleep without any problems. Again, all the employees rolled over with kindness. If you have any questions, they were always available and offered their support. At all meals we were spoilt for choice from various tasty dishes at the rich buffet. If 200 KES, 1,000 ml of mineral water 400 KES and 0.5l of beer 500 are due for 300 ml of Coke, you really can't complain. Since we were also allowed to process so many new impressions about the fascinating landscape and the magnificent wildlife, we did not miss a TV, the pool right next to the restaurant we only used as a photo motif, but for us to dive the time was too bad with such an extensive natural offer. Much rather we relaxed briefly on the cozy terrace with a view into the distance.

Wow fantastic location, views and facilities here In the middle of a small park….the rhino spotting was exceptional as were the cheeky baboons who wondered into the hotel grounds. Nice food on the buffet and pleasant staff made the stay enjoyable

Camp is ideally located within the park, offering a convenient stay for visitors. The restaurant and most room balconies provide splendid views of the park. The food variety is good and tasty, although be aware that drinking water at the restaurant comes at an extra cost.
The rooms are spread across a large campus, so you might need to take a considerable walk depending on your room location. While the rooms are spacious, they show signs of aging and could benefit from a makeover, as there is room for improvement in the overall upkeep of the place.

We stayed just one night for a visit to Lake Nakuru; the structure itself is striking, aesthetically beautiful for how it is laid out, the common areas including the swimming pool are nice but nothing exceptional but the location is also excellent in relation to the park. The lodge itself is clean and would need a good refresh; of the lodges visited previously (in other parks) it is the one that impressed me the least. For eating, dinner and breakfast (where there is a chef who cooks espresso) are much better than lunch; in all cases however very little choice of food. It's fine for one night

The lodge is in a fantastic location but the pictures of the outside mask a tired and run down hotel desperately in need of modernisation. We stayed for 2 nights and our rooms were very disappointing. Booked for us via our safari with Trailfinders we were I Italy staying for 1 night but paid ÂŁ980.00 for two rooms for an extra night based on photos before we travelled. Total rip off. Sorry. Dirty shower room, stained bedding and mosquito net. Dodgy electrics and light fittings. Was just really disappointing.
The positive about the lodge is the staff. Really great and always very welcoming. Food was okay but lacked variety and choice.
Can’t recommend this hotel.

We are four of us, Mom, Dad, Wife and I, stayed here for one night during our Kenya & Tanzania Safari trip. The lodge surely is in one of the most beautiful location with elevated view of the national park and the lake at the distance, during dawn and dusk the view is amazing and gets edged in ones momory. The layout of the lodge is well spread out, we stayed in standard rooms and it was sufficient, as it had all the amenities. The running water was alkaline/hard water, so it was interesting while taking a shower. In the evenings one needs a torch while coming over to the dinning area. The dinning hall I will say is the heart of the place, the buffet was simply one of the best we experienced during our entire safari trip to Kenya and Tanzania. I must mention, the Chef came over to enquire about the food, when we were all sitting together having beer after lunch, and when we said its our first day of the safari and we wanted to try Kenyan dishes, he made separate dishes for our family to experience during the dinner. We were extremely touched by the Chef’s gesture and we really loved the food, from then on I had ugali whenever I could get my hands on it. Grateful to the Chef, you made our stay memorable.

Our hearts are flooded with a lot of warmth and love during our stay at the Lake Nakuru Lodge! We also visited the lodge twice in 2021 and this time we decided to return for a long stay of 8 nights. We enjoyed every second of our stay. The lodge is in a beautiful location in the middle of Lake Nakuru national park, where there are many animals. There was a pride of lions just a hundred meters from the lodge entrance, we saw a hyena from our balcony and during the day several animals come to drink at the water pool (buffalo, zebra and wild hog). The view from the lodge is breathtakingly beautiful and does not bore you for a second. Be sure to bring your binoculars to view the park and animals from the pool. We enjoyed swimming in the pool every day. The rooms are spacious, clean and nice and every day you get 2 bottles of water. The quality of the food and also the service of the staff is fantastic. They do more than their utmost to make guests as comfortable as possible. If you have special requests, you can also communicate them so that the chef takes them into account. Our compliments. If you want to relax for a while, a visit to the spa is recommended, such good massages! Also be sure to take a look at the souvenir shop and the beautiful drawings by Daniel Mutinda. We did several game drives and were very lucky. So, several times we saw rhinos, leopards, lions, giraffes, hippos and many more animals. The lodge offers many more activities, such as you can book a sundowner (this is a very magical experience that we enjoyed very much), horseback riding, bird watching, you can go to the Makalia Falls and much more.
If you want to enjoy a place for a longer period then just 1 or 2 nights, we definitely recommend a long stay at this lodge. Also, if you want to visit Lake Naivasha or Lake Elementaita, for example, this lodge is a great base.
If you have some energy left in the evening, you can shake your hips at the bar or during one of the music/dance shows.
We felt very at home in this place and already miss the Lake Nakuru Lodge family. We want to thank the whole team of the lodge immensely for the good care and this perfect stay, especially Agnes and Joseph.
We will definitely return soon! Asante Sana!

Our room was not super clean, the whole hotel is very old, hot and not looked after. The mosquito net was a disaster super dirty and broken, the walls had holes and clearly a old leak damage that went unfixed. Only two plugs on the whole room - we had to request a fan as the room was very hot, so one was gone with the fan. People on holiday have phones, cameras, laptops to charge, it is not acceptable anymore to not try to accommodate that. Food was basic. The staff was nice enough when the fan was requested and always tried to be helpful. The overall experience was very disappointing as this was the most expensive hotel of our trip, not worth the money. Only positive was the balcony view.

Everything was excellent. The tent room was spacious and they have many small details of caring that I felt welcomed all time. The staff added a hot bag in my bed before going to sleep as it was a cold night. They have the boat trips on the lake departing from the camp too.

We just wore whatever we would wear in Nairobi. Nothing fancy. I had on loose pants, a short sleeve shirt and I always have a light weight sweater on for evening.
