A fantastic piece of art builds and managed with passion, decorated with a pure Arabic and local style. We put customer satisfaction in the hart of our daily job. With an excellent views all rounds and a relaxing swimming pool. Accessible in walking distance to the medina.

This hotel was booked for me via a tour operator. After accidentally going to a different Dar Chefchaoeun in the Medina accidentally at first, I was thrilled to have been taken here! Definitely a disappointment to find that the pool was closed, but everything else about the property was stunning - the decor was gorgeous, the grounds and multiple terraces were very well-kept, and the view from the balcony in my huge room was stunning for both sunrise and sunset. The bathroom was equally large, with two shower heads, though turning on the rainfall shower seemed to cause a little bit of a flood. It was a bit noisy in the middle of the night as there was a celebration of sorts happening in town, but that’s part of the experience. I ended up eating at the hotel because I arrived in the evening and was tired from traveling the two days prior and was very pleasantly surprised by the price and quality of the meal. Breakfast was buffet-style and good, though chaotic with the amount of guests as there didn’t seem to be enough seating.

The hotel is build up against a hill with the Spanish Mosque behind and above it. The suite we stayed was in its own separate building. It was quiet, charming, and spacious with a sitting room apart from the bedroom. 20 minute walk up to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint and <10 min walk down to the main square. Extremely clean with friendly helpful staff. We were confused by the breakfast which appeared to consist of lots of bread and a platter of small bowls with butter, honey, olives, etc. As we left we overheard another guest ask for eggs which were available upon request. Would definitely stay at this location again.

Everything about our stay was just perfect. The location outside of the Medina is ideal. We had a lovely room with a great view of the Medina. Both breakfast and dinner were very good. No alcohol served, unfortunately. We also enjoyed the pool very much. You cannot access the hotel directly by car but there is parking available (though limited) close by (40 dirhams for two nights) and always someone to help with the luggage - for a little tip, of course. They are building a three-storey parking lot at the moment so even in high season it should not be an issue.

We loved our stay at Dar Echchaouen! Beautiful Riad with a wonderful outdoor pool and seating area, and an incredible view of the Blue City. The meals we had at the Riad were great- both a dinner and breakfast- and we particularly loved how quaint the dining terrace was. The Riad itself was only about a 5 minute walk into the heart of Chefchaouen, making it super easy to navigate getting to and from the popular sights. Our favorite part, however, was how comfortable the beds were- best sleep we had in Morocco! I definitely recommend staying at Dar Echchaouen if you travel to Chefchaouen.

Situated a few blocks from the entrance to the medina, this property combines the personal warmth of a guest house with the services of a well-run hotel. Each room is slightly different, featuring such individual touches as local art and stained glass panels. My room looked out on a terrace with potted geraniums and, beyond that, the Riff Mountains.

Lovely location, and a charming hotel, a very traditional style, but fairly recent construction, but oh my word, did it work. Immaculately clean rooms, comfy beds, and a bathroom you want to take home. Quiet and away from the frantic bustle of Chefchaouen centre and medina, yet conveniently near. An easy walk into the centre. The receptionist was not particularly clued up, when we phoned to ask about parking. However we were able to park on some waste ground about 200m away (even bartered the overnight rate down when we said we thought it was too expensive!) but at least it was watched overnight. Parking will be much easier when they open the parking and sports complex even nearer to the hotel. We weren’t brave enough to take pot luck for a touristy evening meal in the Médina, and chose to eat in the hotel. No idea what we missed in the Médina, but it would have had to be outstanding to beat the food that we were served, Simply delicious, and for the location, we thought it reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast with a huge selection. Beautiful gardens and the pool looked delightful, but far too nippy to be tempted. Only slight flaw was that our room was a little chilly, but not sufficiently so to trouble reception

We were thoroughly impressed by Dar Echaouen. The property is absolutely beautiful - the garden, the pool, and the views are amazing! Our room exceeded expectations. Clean and very comfortable. The bed has memory foam pillows and incredibly soft sheets. We also had two very good meals at their restaurant. The hotel is a short walk from some of the bluest streets/buildings in the city. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Chefchaouen.

This Dar was a dream come true. Our family stayed here during a 7-day tour of Morocco, and I must say that Dar Echchaouen was by far THE BEST place to lodge. The view from the property overseeing all Chefchaouen was simply breathtakingly amazing. Not only was the property, clean, quiet, and comfortable, the architecture was superb! I thoroughly enjoyed the exterior courtyard with the fountain and landscaping. The outdoor pool atmosphere had me believing I was in paradise. We dined at the hotel for an evening of traditional cuisine which was savory and delectable. This dar was beyond beautiful and charming, words cannot truly express how captivating this property truly is. I would 1,000% recommend this establishment while traveling to Chefchaouen.

Truly beautiful hotel right on the edge of the medina! Upon arrival, we were graciously upgraded to newly-constructed suite with simply spectacular views overlooking the medina. The hotel grounds are lovely, the staff was friendly, the room was very well appointed, and breakfasts/dinners in the restaurant were delicious. Very pleased with our stay here, and would highly recommend!

Great place to stay: very nice and clean rooms, a lot of different places where you can sit outside, very nice elevator ( you look up and see the sky). I called the hotel with WhatsApp and someone came to help us with carrying the luggages from the streetparking ( 200 m from the hotel, 30/day). Breakfast buffet was great with a lot of choices including omelet. The only thing I would not recommend is dinner . Although it was convenient to be able to eat at the hotel, we were stil hungry after the meal because the vegetable tajine was small and had very little taste. They had neither anything good for starter. This said, I would certainly stay there again and highly recommend it

I agree with both of the previous reviewers. Lots of steps up to the dar and inside (I would say moderately steep inside), as well as in the medina of Chefchaouen itself. Knowing what I know, if I had serious mobility issues, I would think long and hard -- and at the least ensure that I had assistance -- before visiting this town, although it is beautiful.

Trip Advisor will not allow me to type in a link to their email or website address. If you add the typical pre and post letters to darechchaouen, it will take you to their website which also contains their email address.
