Came with my adult daughter. Had a relaxing stay in the Riad the first night. Beautiful sunset. Food was very good. Next day toured the Sahara and surrounding area and learned about Berber culture. Later that afternoon rode our camels to the tents. Sunset from the top of the dunes. Meal and campfire. Entertained by Berber musicians. Interesting conversation on... More

Food was good. Auberge was ok. People tried to be nice but we didn't really feel at ease. We had booked a desert tour with dromedars and a night in the hotels bivuac. Luckily they arranged for us too be in the smaler group when we asked for it (9 persons, the big one would have been with about 20persons).... More

We arrived Auberge Les Roches early in the morning without any booking. Our plan was just to get a room there for the night. We were warmly welcomed and got invited to take a look around the Auberge. The staff served us Berber whiskey (mint tea), and showed us pictures from the desert tour, where you can spend the night... More

I've been in Auberge Les roches for the second time. The staff is really kind and helpful, We arrived so late but they kept a warm and delicious diner for us. The room was big, clean and calm. The only problem was the A/C that didnt work well, while the temperature inside the room was really high and annoying. We... More

We showed up in the middle of the night (a night before our reservation) and were treated fabulously. They were so accommodating and kind. Everything was clean. Breakfast was good. They gave us a great deal on a two night camel excursion. Wifi was not always working, but it seems like that is the case everywhere in Merzouga. We would... More

We had one night stay and a tasty lunch in here and our overall feedback is positive. Location is convenient, close to the Supratour bus stop. The structure is fine and clean; staff is nice and welcoming. The auberge has large rooms and good bathroom, also when you consider you are in a small village between dunes! Breakfast is good... Better suited for backpackers maybe, but this no-frills place feels authentic, the people running it are friendly and helpful, the food is good, the rooms basic but very clean, the beds comfortable, the architecture laudably local with some truly whimsical detail and it's cheap! Perfectly in sync with the desert environment. What else to ask for?

Our Saharan desert experience could not have been more perfect. Hassan was the perfect host: kind, knowledgable, helpful, and he spoke perfect English. His 4x4 tour of the desert was so interesting, and included visiting some mines, a fossil field, and a Berber nomad camp. The camel trek into the desert was amazing. We saw scarabs scampering through the sand... More
