Beautiful building and courtyard. Modern take of riad. The room was compact, modern and comfortable. Had ammonite wash basin. The breakfast was okey. Dinner was European, with good presentation and not so much for tastes. Staff was helpful.
Only stayed for one night after coming back from the desert. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Place does not look like much from the outside (in a construction area) but the back yard pool and bar area were very...More
Recently overnighted for one night at the lovely Dar Chamaa with a group of friends (four mid-30s in total). Don't be fooled by the outside neighborhood when pulling up - because it's heaven once you enter the beautiful Dar after a long day of traveling....More
We stayed in three different riads getting to the desert and back. This was by far the nicest. The pool area was like being at a luxury hotel in Miami. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The only negative is proximity...More
Stayed here as part of a tour through Morocco. We only stayed for one night but so desperately wanted to stay for longer. The rooms were sizeable and clean. However, it was the staff that made our stay so enjoyable they honestly couldn't do enough...More

December should be nice in Ouarzazate and in the desert (but do not forget a jacket and a jumper, can get cold in the evenings). You will have offers galore about a drive in the desert, but I would recommend to go Zagora - M'hamid and the desert there around, much more than Merzouga which is getting very crowded and noisy... If you choose this part of the desert, you should get in touch with Caravane du Sud in Zagora, they are by far the best (driver + lodging)
Dar Chamaa (4* +) is one of the very best choices, very good restaurant too (reasonably priced) - I could recommand Les Jardins de Ouarzazate (3* +) too, close to it if you look for a cheaper hotel.
