I dropped in here to see the indigenous sweat lodge which wasn't operating but ran across Elias who does body work...chakra balancing and intuitive massage. I too am an energy worker and wanted to try out some local healing work. He set up a private space in the garden on a table with a mattress and so began the most...

We stayed at El Encanto for 3 nights & were picked up by one of the staff from a nearby restaurant. The room was okay but nothing special but the garden and the entire location was just awesome. The food was okay but there isn't a big choice & there is no way to eat somewhere else if you don't...

Remote in a good way, El Encanto is accessed by an unpaved road from the main road. I liked the location! It is well managed - the grounds are well kept, kitchen staff is efficient, and it's easy to arrange tours at the reception desk. Water pressure is good and the showers are hot, at least in the cabina (Maderas...

Dreadful hotel and awfully ran. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS LAST RESORT! I have never met such rude staff. The owner (with small glasses) could not be bothered to help you out. The location is so far away from the beach up in mosquito ridden wood. Food disgusting and slow service. No atmosphere at all. A lot of far better...

This place is a very special place in so many ways. It is on about 15 acres of land with an amazing view of the volcano Conception. This mountain rises about 5,000 ft above and is mystical and magical. The owner, Don Carlos, created this sacred space about 11 years ago. His integrity and the huge heart space he holds...

I really enjoyed my stay at El Encanto and I think it was probably in the very best location on the whole island. The beach was a five minute walk, the lagoon a 20 minute bike ride, and the hike up to Maderas seemed to be not far at all. I stayed in the cheaper rooms which were totally fine...

Very comfortable nice and clean rooms with beautiful view on volcano. Nice garden, full of colorfull flowers. We went on horse riding trip and it was amazing. The horses were very calm and view from volcano was amazing. They can arrange it from reception. Very poor wifi connection. Little note- in the evening hours you cant buy anything to eat...

We had a great stay at El Encanto. The owner was very helpful and organised tours and taxis for us which was great. The rooms we stayed in (mid-priced cabins) were very clean, new and comfortable with excellent aircon and hot water. Just a warning that if you don't like insects (including scorpions) don't come to Ometepe, as they are...

I was unsure about this place after seeing some of the negative reviews, but I had a very good experience here. Perhaps some people aren't used to traveling in rural Nicaragua. All of the staff were friendly to us from arrival onwards, and were always there when we needed something. The rooms were basic and cute, but you come here...

Stayed in the Maderas Cabin, a brand new fresh, clean cabin with a private porch (the view was however not that good from the cabin, although very nice from the restaurant). The food was mostly good, especially the breakfast, a bit sad that the restaurang closed early (7.30) since it's a little walk to next place. That made it not so...
