We checked in late in the evening, hiking up to the hotel was a task after a long day. Check in was easy. Staff was friendly and spoke English. The rooms are very small but adorable decor, very clean and cozy. Our shower window faced an indoor hall way, different but it was

Very nice accommodations. Simple but very nice and clean. My wife loved the chulito and the chuleta that was decorating the bed. They helped us out with early packed breakfast because we wanted to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu.

No, our room didn't have a/c but it was pleasant enough with the windows opened.

Does this property have air conditioning?
Agreed, I think some rooms only have ceiling fans, others have AC units, but the nights are always cools and the hotel is very comfortable.

Does a superior twin room mean two beds?
I'm not sure, they'll let you see the room before you rent it though!

I don't know if there are advantages or disadvantages of booking prior but we had sown a week in Rio and a night in Chile prior to heading to Peru so we went through a travel agent to assure no mistakes or hiccups with our travel itinerary. Guess it would depend on how many connecting flights etc you have before getting to Cusco.
