This is a quaint, out of the ordinary lodging facility. The lush and quiet surroundings are second to none. They also have a good restaurant there called the Tree House, which is very fitting since this lodging is built on a hillside right among the native trees. The staff at this hotel were friendly and very accommodating, and let us stay...

I changed the dates of our stay as I really wanted to stay in this accommodation. We were collected from the train station, check in was great, the staff absolutely lovely (and that's why I really wanted to give this place a great review). The rooms clean and pleasant, wifi was good, hot water from shower. It was a nice...

If you read through some tripadvisor reviews for hotels in Aguas Calientes, you'll soon realize that nearly everything is overpriced for the level of quality and service received. This is unfortunate, as it means that none of the hotels are trying very hard to treat their customers well as they know that everyone needs to stay in Aguas Calientes in...

Let's be clear about something, this is no 5 stars hotel resort, nor a fancy place! Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu are expensive, you can look at it whatever way you want to, and it'll keep being expensive no matter what, specially for foreigners, and if you're not from Latin America or don't speak Spanish, they'll try to get even...

The Rupa Wasi is basic accommodation but adequate for a night. If steps worry you this may not be the place for you as access is up a rather steep set of steps. However take it slow and it should not be a concern. We were met at the station by a member of staff who took us to buy...

For the price I'm not impressed. It's nice rooms and friendly service. But the maintenance and the cleaning lacks. It's easy to hear the other guests in the other rooms as well. One little improvement could be done is the signs showing direction to the hotel. It was a bit difficult to find.

This hotel is pretty and definitely has a lodgy touch. We got a big room, with a big bed on the top floor and two small beds at the bottom. The breakfast was deliciously and starts at 4:30 am so you can have a real breakfast before going up to Machu Picchu. It is super well located: Just a few...

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We hated Rupa Wasi Eco Lodge. It ruined our Machu Picchu night. Worst service from the hotel personnel. Super bad value for money - it's too expensive for what you get! We weren't served/given the included breakfast before climbing up to Machu Picchu: the personnel did not try to solve the problem...

Aguas Calientes seems a striking metaphore for explosive growth in Peru to meet the surge in tourism. Construction burts higgely piggely in all directions, most of it half complete, as two to three stories are piled atop old buildings to add more rooms. In June 2016, almost 6,000 tourists per day flooded this simple village on their way to or...
