Rupa Wasi Eco Lodge is a very short walk from the train station. Yes it has a lot of steps but they are very manageable. The location is wonderful because it is out of the way of all the hustle and bustle of the town. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We only stayed one night and we decided...

I can only recommend this hotel if you like flea bites and poor service. We stayed here overnight before tackling Machu Picchu - and I'm very sorry that I did. Like so many travelers we arrived from Oliantambo (beautiful place, you spend at least a day there and if possible stay there rather than Aguas Caliente) on the late train,...

Yes, there were lots of stairs as warned by others. The method of booking was unusual-- half payment in advance, but I had no issues checking out. We got the room at the very top. The walls have huge glasses without blinds. It gives you an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. We checked-in in the evening and check out...

We stayed in this hotel because we thought it would be quieter not being in the middle of town and we wanted to get up super early for Machu Picchu. Boy, were we wrong. First of all, it's far away and has a ton of stairs so it's a pain to get to. Then, the walls are basically non-existent. The...

Yes the place is up loads of stairs - but really you should have read the reviews PRIOR to booking here...I felt the climb away from the bustle, noise and general seedines of the town was a blessing. The food in the restaurant was genuinely among the best I have tasted (although in fairness it wasn't cheap). I personally would...

PROS - up above the city a bit so you can have views or the mountains if you pay for the $100 rooms with decks. A "breakfast" is included including bread,1 egg, coffee and butter. Hot water. Cons - 85 steps to get to the room from the street. (yes, I counted) Expensive cafe on site ($6 glass of wine)....

Don't book here - they are dishonest, unethical and just plain horrible. This is the worst “establishment” I have ever dealt with anywhere in the world. We booked and paid 100% for our room in April – for a July visit to Peru and Machu Picchu. Unfortunately my husband was taken to the hospital in Cusco the morning we were...

The size of the room was quite nice, and the bathroom was large for a backpacker lodge, but the walls were incredibly thin, which made the overall experience below average. We stayed only one night, and hoped to get a good nights sleep before the early start in the morning, but there was a club close enough nearby where the...

Hard to give a completely fair picture as we unavoidably arrived on the late train at 01.00am, but there was only a caretaker there to meet us who seemed not to know anything about us, (although he was helpful), and the pick-up never materialised. The lodge seemd nice, and was probably a good place to chill for several days, but...

My friend and I recently stayed there and found it to be very welcoming. We appreciated the organic hand mades soaps as well. It is centrally located to go explore the town. We stayed there on my Birthday and had an amazing meal at the restuarant. I appreciated the hotel for being a Tree House. We had stayed at 5...
