The hotel is well located overlooking the river and was fairly empty when we stayed during the low season. We got a very good deal for a five-star hotel and I was more than happy with the comfort and facilities, with a spacious room with little balcony and a huge comfortable bed. An excellent dinner and breakfast were included in...

This was the best hotel we stayed at in Peru. We had a magnificent room that over looked the river. The staff were amazing, every request I made I was told how long it would take and they were always quicker. I had a bag of laundry done in two hours - washed, dried and pressed. The food was also...

Stayed only one night but really wished we had stayed longer. The staff was great. Rooms were modern and well kept. The food was absolutely terrific. It's just a 3 min walk up to the city centre but far enough people are not bothering you.

Had a two night all inclusive. True 5 star and amazingly professional and courteous staff. Was traveling with my older parents and they made everything possible. Food out of this world ! Will hopefully return with the rest of my family one day.

Beautiful facility on the edge of town. Although you walk uphill to board bus to Machu Picchu, on the way back, you can be dropped off at the hotel on the return trip. Food, included in price of room was excellent! Some of the best food we have had in Peru so far. Don't miss free cooking class at 2:00,...

We stayed here for one night before our visit to Machu Picchu. Our room had the best view in town of the mountains and the river stream, so soothing and breathtaking. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, the hotel is nicely decorated and the service was impeccable.

At more than $600 for a night including dinner the hotel was simply disappointing value. We were given a damp and noisy ground floor room (the hotel is wedged between the main road and the railway) which fortunately we exchanged for a drier one. The free happy hour pisco sour - a common gesture in good Peruvian hotels - was...

When we got off the train in Aqua Calientes our bags were taken to the hotel by a bellman who met us and they we're waiting in our room when we returned from Machu Picchu in the afternoon. Upon entered the hotel, we were greeted and lead to a comfortable couch and offered tee. We filled out the registration and...

Furthest away from the train station, 10 minutes walk up hill to the bus station. Good rooms, a bit basic, but I believe it is the best hotel. Next to a rapid flowing river. The town is a great location to stay before visiting Machu Picchu.

We stayed at the Sumaq hotel during our 2-day visit to Machu Pichu. This hotel is clearly superior in every respect. The room was immaculately clean, large enough to be comfortable, and all members of the staff that we encountered were warm, friendly and eager to be of service. The only detractors are that the building is nestled against a...
