Unfortunately the area is very good, right in the city center but unfortunately the services are of a doubtful quality, even the rooms or the smoky areas of the cigarette smell, it seems that the hotel has not gone through much of a renovation renovation process, this is only valid for the price. My recommendation is to pay a little more, but not to choose this hotel.
The only positive thing about this place is the location, swimming pool and the working staff.
Apparently the ideal way to cut down on losses here is on the customer's expense.
First, at around 21:00 PM they shut down the AC, (it does not cool just takes out air) claiming "there's no need for it" because in their subjective opinion it’s cold outside (for my subjective opinion, September is not cold), advising me to "open a window". It was only after a long, pleading argument about not wanting to sleep with the window open (the street is loud) that they agreed to turn it on for me, but by early morning they are always sure to turn it off first chance they get – resolving in me waking up soaked in sweat.
Second, the hotel itself is very old, not suitable for 2018 and isn't well built to suit the basic needs of disabled guests.
Here are a few examples:
• There are no power spots near the night stands, so you can't charge your phone, you only have a spot near the T.V. • There isn't a trash can in the room, only in the bathroom. • The tub is too high and inaccessible for elderly or disabled guests. My mom is 65 and suffers from chronic joint pain – and it was very hard for her to get in and out of it, risking falling each time.
Third, the AC's filters are filthy and with mold (Seems to me like they'd cut down on power if they'd only clean them once in a while).
the place does not have much character, it is only a decent hotel with a touch of comunist atmosphere. But the location id really central, rooms are clean and confortable and from top floors the view towards Palace of culture is Incredible. The breakfast has a little bit of everything, without being fabulous.
It’s too expensive! 1. i was waiting for Ceausescu to see / the hotel is really communist; 2. breakfast- it’s not continental at all, I was not able to eat anything; 3. it was a weird smell in the bathroom; 4. don’t go in the weekend time- you will not be able to sleep because of the loud music from the Pub’s near the hotel.
the Plus part: 1. location is so good; 2. pool- is world class - really good
The hotel is situated in the city center next to Palatul Culturii and Palas Mall, so the access to public transport is extremely easy, tram and bus stations are right next to the hotel. The high floors offer great view of the city. Although the hotel still keeps the communism air from the time it was built, the rooms were tidy and clean. Also, the hotel service was very good, we arrived at 6.30 a.m. and they let us check-in although the check-in time was at 02.00 p.m.. Breakfast had all sorts of various dishes, for all kinds of tastes. Overall the hotel is ok, however it could use some design improvement to bring it up-to-date.
