Detailed Reviews
My self and my wife had an absolutely lovely stay in the beautiful location to relax after visiting the wonderful ancient city. The owner was so so lovely and cared for us excellently. The room was so spotless and had great Air con. Mostly what would make me recommend this great place to stay was the delish meal that the owner prepared for us in the evening and her generosity.

I have stayed one night at this place. It is more like a bed and breakfast. It is a family home. We had a very nice home cooked dinner and the breakfast was amazing. Perfect for family and couples. If you want to save money and also stay in a clean and comfortable place definitely the best choice. I would definitely come back again. I read about her husband giving a tour with his Tuktuk around Anuradhapura but he is not there at the moment. Really lovely people.

Everything was fantastic! location very nice, in a quiet area with garden. Large room, very clean and well kept. Excellent food. The kindness of the host was spectacular. She is so homely, welcoming and kind. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Everything was up to our expectations and even beyond! An experience to be cherished and remembered! Highly recommended for foreign and local tourists to stay the place.

Best homestay so far on our trip, the owners Supun and Chaiya are amazingly welcoming and did so much to make our stay with them wonderful. They are so kind and generous with their time, knowledge and are so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they both went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed, good AC, lovely bathroom and even a fridge, which was super handy. Bed is large and super comfy with mozzie net. Outside there are two lovely chairs on the veranda for relaxing in the garden. Lakmal has a tuk tuk so we went with him on our day tour to the ancient ruins. His local knowledge meant that he was also able to take us to some quieter out of the way sights that we might have otherwise missed. We did not need a separate guide. Really enjoyed the tour and the king coconut drink. He was also very happy to run us into the new town to pick up bits and pieces from the shops. The new town doesn’t have that much to offer the tourist so your main purpose in coming here will probably be the ancient ruins. Yaluwa Rest is a short tuk tuk ride out of the town in a quiet neighbourhood, no problem as Supun has a tuk tuk. Now let’s talk about food, Chaiya is an amazing cook, so so talented, her food is fantastic, cooked with lovely produce and love. We did not eat out at all for fear of missing a great meal. If you stay here eat in, it’s the best Sri Lankan food we have had in 12 days here. If you have time do attend one of Chaiyas cooking classes.
So in summary amazing homestay where you will have fantastic food, great room, but above all truly wonderful hosts who will make your stay here extra special. Stop looking book now.

One of the best guesthouses we’ve ever stayed in! A peaceful, green oasis just outside the main area of Anuradhapura (10 min to the ancient city). Very comfortable, super clean bungalow with a/c, a comfy bed, a nice patio on the garden. The best part was the food! Delicious breakfasts and suppers, including a cooking class followed by a feast with 6 delicious Sri Lankan dishes. The owner was extremely helpful, connecting us with tuktuk drivers we could trust and basically treating us like honoured guests. All the comforts of a hotel, but none of the boring anonymity or overpriced food. Come stay here!!!

I really enjoyed our three nights here. Our hosts couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. We ate there two nights ($5 each) and the local food the lady cooked was amazing. The room was new and spotless and the a/c worked perfectly.
The owner has a tuk-tuk business too and drove us to the temple sights. He was a safe driver and didn't rush us.

Staying at Yaluwa was a wonderful experience. The house was new, really clean, spacious and cozy, the AC and WiFi worked perfectly. It is located in a quiet area and it has a beautiful garden where we could sit, relax and enjoy the traditional Sri-Lankan breakfast, carefully prepared by the owner. Everything was homemade and delicious! We also chose to have dinner there, which included a huge variety of Sri-Lankan dishes, also really tasty!
And, most important of all, the owners were incredibly friendly, they made us feel at home and took very good care of us. They live in the next house and made everything really easy, they picked us up at the train station, offered a tuk-tuk tour and bikes for rent, gave us tips and recommendations of Sri Lanka and made sure we had an amazing time. So far it's been our favorite accommodation in Sri Lanka and we highly recommend it! We also wish them good luck with their new business. 10/10!

Beautiful accommodation. Spacious, clean, great air conditioning and a lovely bed with duvet😁. Super helpful hostess who does everything to make you happy. Moreover, a woman who turns out to be a great cook. Followed a cooking workshop with her. With no fewer than 7 delicious curries. Everything was served in a beautiful garden. Breakfast is delicious. She made a Sinhalese breakfast especially for us. We were already tired of the toast in all our previous accommodations. A great breakfast. Our TukTuk broke down and she had arranged a repairman in no time. She can also help you with all kinds of other excursions and free visits to stupas as an alternative to the expensive entrance ticket. So this accommodation is highly recommended...
