Our party of 12 stayed at Earl's Rajarata fron the 14th - 16th of September, for 2 nights and 3 days. The staff was able group us together in the 5 rooms on the 1st floor, and one room on the ground floor, which we were very grateful for.
From the time we made our reservation until the time we left the hotel, the friendliness and efficiency of each and every one of the staff was the best. Everyone was always ready to lend a helping hand and quick to respond to our needs, whether it was asking for an extra towel or just having a friendly chat in the lobby. The chef and kitchen + serving staff were also wonderful. As most of our party were vegetarians, the chef adjusted the various menus to suit our needs.
Due to an early morning pilgrimage on one of the days (a Katina pinkama), we asked if we could have our breakfast one and a half hours earlier than the usual time, and the Chef and staff absolutely delivered. There were so many delicious options to choose from, not just that morning, but at every meal. And the portions of the meals were huge - you definitely won't go hungry when you stay at Earl's Rajarata!
The rooms were airy, clean, and stocked with all the amenities we needed such as a fridge, a kettle, a selection of teas etc. They also had powerful emergency lights in case there were power cuts, which was very thoughtful, although we did not need to use them in the end. The bathrooms were also clean and well stocked. The 2 family rooms, 2 triple rooms, and 2 double rooms were spacious and the views from the balconies were beautiful. The hotel is just a short drive from the Ruwanweliseya and the Sri Maha Bodhiya, which is good if you are going on a pilgrimage.
Checking in and checking out was fast and free of any hassle. The reception staff were brilliant and friendly, both during our stay and also over the phone before that when we made our reservation.
We were sad to leave when our short holiday was over. But I can say with 100% certainty that we will definitely be staying at Earl's Rajarata whenever we head to Anuradhapura again.

The bedroom was very spacious and so was the bathroom. Very clean and new. The beds was very conformable and huge. The meals were buffets and they kept filling up the trays even by the end of the buffet. There was a big spread and all of the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

This is one of the very few hotels with an outstanding customer service. The hotel had no miserliness whatsoever in providing tea or coffee, water etc. Room was clean and spacious. Friendly staff , and very comfortable beds / rooms. There is a kitchen if you want to do milk rice at the roof top.

We were deceived by the name of Earl’s. Room no 205 Water seeping from the cubicle and after informing they put a towel . Earls Rajarata Villa is the worst hotel i have ever been. The main hotel was booked so they gave us the villa. we regret very much staying in this hotel, having lot of problems. There was NO continuous electricity and NO staff available for require services to the point that only one staff member was available for the whole hotel. The reception didn't care about are complaints and they were not keen on fulfilling our problems…Most of the time the only staff member is unavailable for very long periods of time. In our stay we couldn’t use the air conditioning because of an electric fault and when we informed the staff they SIMPLY just IGNORED us .After a stern complaint on a staff person he talked back with BAD ATTITUDE. Therefore considering these reasons we thoroughly advice people not to stay in this hotel.

We vistited Earls rajarata hotel 15th august . The staff were very great and quality sevice, so, the eat is varity and excelent , also the rooms were cleand and confort bed. it has afantastic location for the people that visit the towon for work. Will recomendet thes hotel for all persons that to travel in Anuradapura.
Most important thing is this hotel near thisa wewa. In the morning & evening we can see more beautiful view in the lake & ruwanweli mahaseya ..

We were looking for a nice hotel in Anuradhapura and were pleasantly surprised when we came up with this property. It had large spacious rooms with two large beds. The facility looked new and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Since the restaurant was on the rooftop we had to go up there for meals. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and went out of the way to make sure that we were happy.

Rooms were clean and spacious. All amenities were new and in working order. Balcony gives beautiful view of the paddy fields. Location is close to the ancient city. Staff was friendly but they were overloaded due to the limited number. If you are late for the buffet ,food will run out often.
