This rating deals only with the restaurant. Had had two prior buffets in Sri Lanka [a lunch and a dinner] for 800 rupees each. This dinner fare was 1,200 rupees. It was the tastiest of the three for sure. The other dinner venue was also in Anuradhapura, at a high end property and the range of options was greater at the other place. Management might want to consider charging less and keeping up the quality to earn more in the long run. The fried fish at MLR was very good. I am sure it could have been grilled, a healthier choice. All the curry-related items in particular were fine. The dessert table was decent. Staff were good. I would just be concerned about pricing the venue out of the buffet market.

8.35386°, 80.43370° On the north side of the Nuwara Wewa, the restaurant is open to outside guests. They offer an extensive buffet with plenty of food to choose from, well prepared and tasteful. Live music included.

In March 2024, we visited the restaurant and enjoyed their food and live music. Recommended.

Room was enormous, comfortable and had fridge and kettle. Lovely grounds with nice pool that we never got to use - silly we didn't stay a second night! Dinner was amazing - rice and curry was rice with 22 different dishes, all but 2 of which were vegetables. It was SO good. Staff were all great. Just over the road is a big lake with interesting birds (as have the hotel grounds). We arrived late from wilpattu and left to visit the ancient city - definitely a mistake not to return that night. Was a recommendation from our driver as it wasn't at the time on booking.com but will be soon. Was easy to book as I messaged the owner and he phoned on WhatsApp!

My boyfriend and me ate there for lunch. I was not really hungry and they just offered buffet 900 LKR . After I told the staff he offered me that I could just eat a small plate of fruit for 500 LKR. But the fruit looked kinda old and dry.

So I choose for a small plate of rice and dal. The staff knew that I was not hungry and saw my small plate. In the end he wanted the 900 LKR for it.

It’s just about the money.

Visited for lunch on a small group tour. We ordered a vegetarian curry for the group, only one of whom is veggie. They prepared a delicious array of dishes, hot & cold, spicy & not spicy. Very attentive staff. Highly recommend ………………………………….

We came by for lunch. Even though my girlfriend was not really hungry they pushed a buffet-deal through, which was at least to say overpriced. The food was 'OK', but the staff was just rude.

Also overall the place seems to be clean, but when you walk towards the toilets just next to the pool you'll see a bunch of garbage laying in the bushes (see photo).

I would not recommend this place at all.

Good location to visit this ancient city.
Our room was spacious, air-conditioned and sparklingly clean.
We ate all our meals at the restaurant; all good with the prawns the ‘star of the show’.
The staff were very attentive and provided everything we wanted promptly, with a smile.

The resort is located in peaceful surroundings near lake. On arrival we were offered welcome drink. The rooms were just ok and they are in urgent need of repair and refurbishing. They offer buffet dinner and breakfast which was not great. They have small nice swimming pool also. The staff was helpful. Overall just ok resort.

We stopped on our way to Mihintale for a bite to eat. The food was absolutely awful, very surprising for Sri Lanka. Everything seems to have been frozen and has a really disagreeable “back of teeth” feeling. The fellow who seems to be the manager is very pushy and because he is so pushy, it becomes very painful.

Stay away from this place.
