We stayed two nights, using Palm Garden as a base to visit Wilpattu National Park and Anuradhapura. The chalets are beautifully nestled in the nature, but the rooms were pretty basic. Room service was also very poor and I struggled to have my requests actioned by the staff even as a speaker of the local language. Staff was generally unorganised...

We stayed here only one night with our 2 boys. The room was spotless and comfortable although the bathroom could do with a makeover. The gardens were spacious, extensive and beautiful and it was nice to have the space for the kids to run around and explore. The pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it. There was construction going...

The palm garden village hotel was streched out facility in the middle of former agricultural soil. There is a preserved well which dated back some centuries ago, with help from locals and the local governement they could sustaine this piece of history. I had walk about in the garden of the 'village' wich was nice and lots of varieties of flowers...

The hotel has large beautiful landscaped grounds. The rooms are villas spread out across the large grounds. Rooms are nice but it is quite a walk to the main building. It is a challenge to get back to your rooms at night as it is poorly lit. One could easily get lost! Luckily we brought our own torch. Even then...

The rooms in and the setting of this hotel/resort are beautiful. Huge landscaped gardens, well designed rooms with charming old colonial style furnishings. Staff were hopeless. They seemed to realise they should be providing a high standard of service (which they should for the price), but they clearly had no idea how to do this. They were unable to help...

This hotel is a bit dated and badly run. First, the good: It seems to accommodate big groups well, and the grounds are pretty and quiet. the rooms are large (and dark), the beds are two twins pushed together. the sheets & towels are clean, and the rooms are spotless. The staff tries hard to please--although something is missing in...

This place is best enjoyed if you stay for a week or longer. Be prepared to take a good ten minute "hike" from the reception area to your rooms. The place is undergoing a major construction/renovation. I was very disturbed for the fact that at almost 8 pm, the workers were still working under poor lighting condition (exploited labor?) For...

If you are looking for a place to stay in Anuradhapura, this hotel is reputed to be the best in town. It certainly is an acceptable place to stay, but don’t get your expectations too high for it’s a work in progress. While we stayed there in mid-November, 2013, there were major renovations of the property taking place. The pool...

I loved this at first sight. This large property is spread out amongst beautiful trees. We were told they were planted by the owner, but we got a feel of a natural forest. Rooms are in bungalows, with sit outs with lounging chairs. Birds chirping, the ambience of the forest charmed me completely. There is a lake adjoining the property,...

Location and Access – Situated in a wooded tranquil location. A vehicle is recommended to stay here and there is free parking. On the outskirts of the city the main sights are 10 to 15 minutes drive. No local shops, bars or restaurants. Note there are some stairs/steps to negotiate in the grounds and to reach the public areas Google...
