We (a group of 16 from 9 yrs to 60 yrs old) stayed in the "VIP" rooms that were air conditioned. Bougainvillea Room was small compared to Kings Suite. Clean rooms, comfortable beds with clean towels and bed linen. Kitchen staff had limited ability to cope with varied food requests and needed advance notice for lunch or dinner. Breakfast was very good. Other meals were above average. Staff were obliging and courteous. Pool attendants always on duty. The sea was calm like a lake and very clear. Superb for bathing at any time of day. Hired an A/C bus to tour Dambakolapatuna, Jaffna Fort, Green Grass Hotel (lunch), Rio Ice Cream (desserts), Keerimalai, (almost) Bottomless Well, Point Pedro (northernmost point in SL) etc.
It was a very beautiful place & staff was very friendly.Rooms are really comfortable (except the bathrooms) , We stayed one night in the hotel. Food was really amazing including tea..This is the best hotel to have a nice sea bath . We enjoyed the stay ..
Located in a beautiful spot at the norther tip of Sri Lanka. Thalsevana is run by the SL Army. Best thing apart from the location is the excellent attitude of the staff. Despite being in their best room, the AC was not functioning well, mini fridge was not working and there was scarce linen provided. Most disturbing thing was the pool and the beach were open to the public making it a bit awkward for us to use the pool or go on the beach. Our expectation from a holiday resort was a privacy and security to allow complete relaxation. This expectation was not met. Food options were limited and it was served on the table before we sat. Some of the food had gone cold.
We stayed as a group of 8 on 31st Night. The Place is good and Food is great. Good for accomodation as there is nothing much to do if you stay full day in the hotel. Prices are bit higher side for facilities they provide but it will be quite a deal if you can get Forces Welfare rates
Nice place to get a sea bath on the top edge of the island, the hotel constructed by the Sri Lanka Army using the land and the buildings of the KKS Cement Factory, lovely place to visit, it is so beautiful in the night.
