There's so much to say about this retreat centre! I had my doubts at first because it wasn't my first choice for a break but I thought "well, you don't know until you try". On arrival the staff were fantastic. They had stayed up late to make sure I had dinner and something to drink, and even though I was...

The Plantation Villa is set in a beautiful location amongst the rainforest. The staff are so friendly and make you feel like your part of their home. The doctors and therapists are fantastic, food is good and lots of information and trips available nearby. It was completely relaxing and healing.

I came to the plantation villa to have some healthy food and great yoga. I was not disappointed. Catherine the yoga teacher is fun and kind and her classes are very creative. She is full of yogic wisdom. I enjoyed the food very much especially breakfast and the fact it was all organic and fresh. The room was spacious (a...

The staff were friendly and supportive, from kitchen staff through to the managers and the guestroom cleaners, all were so kind and helpful. Smiles all round. The food whilst not for everyone, suited me just fine. It was fresh and wholesome. Thank you for the challenging yoga classes...

Spoiled by the staff, great yoga sessions daily, the Ayurvedic doctor Nishan is excellent and very attentive, the place is beautiful, relaxing, calm, and immersed in the Sri Lanka nature. This is my second time at the plantation Vill and I plan to...

The stay at Plantation Villa was one of my best vacations ever. Very relaxing and calm atmosphere with beautiful nature and very friendly staff. The food was amazing and despite being a meat-lover I had no problem with eating vegan for 10 days; I believe the reason is that the food contains everything you need and so you will not...

I arrived at the Plantation Villa after a month's volunteering and a two week tour in Sri Lanka. I came with the objective of fully relaxing in a truly healthy and rural environment. I wanted the experience to compliment the rest of my holiday and it did, completely! I was collected from Galle by the Plantation Villa taxi (which I...

After a crazy week in Colombo I decided to take the train from Colombo Fort to Kalutara South and spend a few days in the peace and quiet of Plantation Villa. What an amazing experience. The retreat is in the middle of the jungle and monkeys and chipmunks and busy chasing around and picking the fruits from trees. You really...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 100 year old property owned by the then chief of the village and 'govi raja' - Paddy King, an honour bestowed by the government. This property has now been expanded upon to create a nature health resort. The hotel is a specialist Ayurveda / Yoga retreat with 8 rooms set amidst a 30 acre plantation of Rubber, Coconut, Cinnamon, Black Pepper and numerous vegetation, fruit trees and paddy fields. The guest experiences are personalised - each guest will be met by an Ayurvedic Doctor on the first day of their arrival who will plan their diet and ayurveda treatment plans which will be administered during their stay. Majority of the food served to guests come from our own organic gardens surrounding the hotel and daily yoga classes will be conducted to compliment their therapies. Treatments range from general relaxation / destress or detox to the cure or prevention of paralysis, cancer, piles etc. Whilst most guests come for just a relaxing experience or to loose weight or detox, we have had some guests with serious illnesses. Additionally, cookery classes, meditation classes and day trips are organised to allow guests to experience life in rural Sri Lanka. ... more   less
