This hotel is situated a long way from the centre so not ideal if you want to wander around. Set high on a hill here are good views from rooms and the restaurant. The food here was reasonable priced but not the best. For the whole of the time we spent in Sri Lanka this was the only place where...

A new looking but featureless concrete hotel with excellent views over the valley but it is a long steep and tortuous journey up from the town that must be avoided at school opening and closing times due to the traffic. Big room but you had to climb into the bath for a shower through ridiculous plastic curtains and the shampoo...

Comfortable and clean accommodation. Amiable and willing staff. No significant shortcomings. Well run hotel. Not far from the theatre that hosts traditional cultural song and dance performances. Free wifi and a pool.

Traffic in Kandy is problematic at the best of times, and the hill-climb to the Tourmaline and its twin Topaz hotel additionally necesitates a shuttle bus - even small tour buses cannot manage. The swimming pool is at the Topaz, but a short walk/climb from both, and the attendant with the towels not always present. Restaurant indifferent, rooms a bit...

Our tour company booked this hotel on our behalf. We were upgraded to the "Presidential Suite," which was really nice and spacious (had a jacuzzi tub). Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy all of the hotel amenities. Would have been nice to use the pool! Great location and friendly staff. Beautiful view. The breakfast buffet was good (fruit, eggs, etc).

Excellent location in the hills. Beautiful view of the mountains. Room was lovely although in need of a little upgrade. Seemed quite tired. Staff were lovely and helpful. Good restaurant with lovely view. Breakfast not brilliant for English. But omelette bar available. Nice pool with bar. Location makes the hotel. Nice but tired hotel.

I meant to write this review earlier but my busy schedule kept me from doing it. However, I am writing this because my experience at Tourmaline was wonderful. I spent a night there with my wife and it was part of our honeymoon tour. The highlight of this hotel was the friendly and hospitable staff. They were very efficient and...

I visited the hotel with my wife and two year old son. We arrived tired after a three hour drive from Sigiriya. When we arrived there was some kind of tea ceremony, which we found a bit odd and awkward. It lasted for about 30 minutes, even though we would've preferred to be shown to our room. We've booked four...
