We stayed four days in this marvelous little family run hotel. The owners are so kind and will help you with everything. The Villa is so beautiful, and the rooftop restaurant is awesome. Try the cooking class - you will learn to make 6 different traditional Sri Lankan Curries - actually the best food we got during our three weeks...

We should have paid better heed to the review on Tripadvisor before going. But we didn't and went anyway and paid the price. The location is too far from the main Kandy area and very inconvenient to reach if you don't have a car and driver. They have no driver accommodation either. The toilets have only 1 small soap and...

We stayed at villa sandalwood for 2 days and enjoyed these. Before we arrived they called and asked us if we wanted food prepared, as we were arriving late (from the lovely terrace restaurant). Regarding food: The Sri Lankan food was excellent (5 different curries w. unlimited topping up), whereas western food was bland (think fried chicken w. chips and...

Great place to stay. Family-run business. The owner speaks excellent English and is very helpful in organizing day outings and trips to the local meditation centre. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the rooftop restaurant has superb views. As a single female traveller I felt very comfortable and had a lovely stay.

I have to agree with other reviewers, this place is too far from the centre of Kandy. You also have to be aware that it is not known by tuktuk drivers so you have to direct them - this can be quite difficult at night. On the website it looks like it is a 'remote' property, however it is actually...

As lovely as this place was, it left a few things to be desired. It is simply located too far from Kandy involving a 500-1000r three wheeler journey, each way, each time you go out. It is possible to use local buses which we did, but this is not an option after dark. The path from the main road is...

Bhathiya and his staff really tried hard to give us a good start. Everything worked perfectly, the rooms were great, the upstairs terrace was perfect, even with a telescope for star gazing; what a nice touch. The B and B is not in Kandy, as one review states, but personally I would not like to be in Kandy town. It...
