We stayed at the Hotel Suisse for two nights as part of a seven day tour. The building is a beautiful colonial building with decent sized comfortable rooms. The hotel is opposite a lake on a very busy road. The grounds and quite spacious and nicely maintained. The food was good with a reasonable choice. There was live music each...

We stayed for one night as part of a pre booked tour and we were really happy. The rooms and the hotel are lovely, and we had a nice dinner in the bar area. Breakfast was really good (make sure you try the Sri Lankan curry!)

on my tour of Sri Lanka I found the food here to be quite good. The hotel is quite quirky and they had a band on the evening. Only downside is that there appears to be a rooftop nightclub next door that spoilt the whole ambience. Overall a pleasant experience though and good value for money

Although Kandy is very hectic outside, the Hotel Suisse is quiet and in a perfect position to access all amenities nearby. The only down side is that because of the traffic outside pollution is a bit of a problem when sitting by the swimming pool. Inside though its old Colonial feel remains in evidence with 1890s pics everywhere, ancient lifts and...

We just came for dinner with the King of Kandy hotel owner and as he knows all the staff they were very attentive as I'm sure they would be anyway. The decor is in the colonial style and there was live English music in the bar. We wanted a simple dish of grilled fish and veg and we got just...

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a tour of the region. I did not have great expectation after reading the TA reviews. However you cannot help liking the place as soon as you walk through the gate. The best thing about this place is it's location right on the lake and very close to everything....

The place is charming: rooms, bar, dining room are well decorated with an antique flavour. It is not really close to the center of the city (I do not recommend going on foot) but with a tuk-tuk it is very close. Some rooms may look a bit old, but since the hotel is large, you can always try to ask...

I say it's Grand and Old because this hotel reminds me so much of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. As I walk through this hotel, I cannot help but imagine the more glorious days it has seen years past. It is really quite lovely; especially the huge dining room where you can enjoy their breakfast or dinner buffets. I was...

Very grand entrance to a lovely old hotel. The reception staff were very helpful and polite. Always smiling and chatty. The rooms were a bit tired and could do with a bit of a facelift without ruining the old charm. The restaurant was very large and airy, food was good with plenty of choices. Buffet style but with a bit...
