We stayed just for one night to watch the Perahera. Excellent location for that. The staff were very attentive and the service was good. The food was very good too. However, the room we were in is in need if a face lift. It looked a little dated. That said, it is an old hotel and it wouldn't need to...

It is true that this place is very expensive during the Kandy Esala Perahera season. The rooms are also not up the best standards. The best way to describe the rooms are colonial and rustic with an attempt to modernize. Food is also not the best but above average to good 9actually, I can rate food as good) But they...

Room was incredible value at £77 for a triple (plus tax etc). Bit of street noise but tolerable. Bathroom was very period (but lacked hot water and a decent shower). The room itself was incredibly spacious and looked fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful and polite. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Kandy...

The Queens is known by everyone, going to Kandy and is almost as much a landmark as the lake and temples. Its location is superb, with the Temple of the Tooth just minutes away and the lake across the road also. If you want shops they also are very close and if you get lost everyone knows the Queens Hotel....

I traveled Solo to see the Perahera. The staff at the hotel took particular care to make sure I was well looked after. The room was quaint and very clean. The shower worked perfectly for me every day at all times-I stayed for 5 nights. The pool area was well kept and clean. Queens Hotel is a slice of history...

Excellent! Cozy room, high ceilings, massive doors, good sound insulation, delightful retro elevator... I felt presence of Elizabeth II... and despite fatigue (5 hours of a way to Kandy) there were amazing dreams!

Stayed here for three nights. Loved the colonial style. We had to change our room twice - 1st - already occupied. 2nd - window opened a few inches to overlook a brick wall (not good for claustrophobia). Our friends had to change their room also as the bed was a three quarter size and had no legs ( basically, a...

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed very much. Its city-centre location brings great convenience. Walk to the Food City--the supermarket, walk to most of the restaurants, walk to the bus station, walk by the Kandy Lake, 100m to the Scared Tooth Temple... and there is anther great convenience--everyone knows here! The colonial style itself is great. The room...
