We were staying at Regent Lodge for 3 nights only but we so got used to it that in the end we felt like at home. The location is amazing - it's just in the heart of the nature and out of the busy life of city. The room was cosy and comfortable. Even it's a guest house we had...

Stayed recently whilst on work. A tranquil environment and a very homely stay. The rooms were spacious and well laid out, and the scenery of the distant hills provided an invigourating experience. The breakfast was wholesome and good; overall, a very relaxing place to stay. Ideal for quiet writing.

We really enjoyed our stay at Regent Lodge after a previous disastrous night at a different Kandy accomodation. We were able to check in very early, we got there about 9am expecting to only leave our bags but our room was ready and we were welcomed with a tea & coffee with ginger biscuits, and a super-friendly Dudley. Dudley gave...

The hotel is situated in a quiet district 10 mins form the centre of Kandy with wonderful views and for us there it stopped . With the exception of a wonderful cook the rest of our stay was ruined by a greedy and overbearing owner who not only talked us into the most expensive meal we had in Sri Lanka...

Having agreed not to stay in the centre of Kandy itself, we couldn't have made a better choice. From the moment we arrived Dudley made sure we felt at home and with the help of his amazing staff catered for my Celiac Disease brilliantly. The food was fabulous, he must have the best cook in Sri Lanka! He also helped...

Regent Lodge is a bright and airy property, which has been beautifully and tastefully designed. It is approx. 10 mins out of the busy centre of Kandy in a quiet neighbourhood....and has magnificent views of the hills. We did not find the location a problem, and used tuk tuks whenever we wanted to get around. We kept the number of...

This was my third trip to Sri Lanka and I have stayed at numerous hotels and guest houses all around the island. Regent Lodge with its incredibly friendly owners was without a doubt the best of them all. Being greeted with a cup of tea and ginger biscuits upon arrival and having a friendly welcome chat was the perfect start...

We agreed that this place were beautiful! We were also very pleased with our room. We were very happy with the level of service provided. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating. We did have to wait 10 minutes for our room to be ready upon check-in. However, our request for late check-out was granted with no problems.

We stayed ata number of guesthouses in Kandy during our vacation and this was the last stay and can happily say we kept the best until last. It is a little out of the way up Riverdale Road but most Tuc Tuc drivers knew the directions and the view and accommodation are worth it. The owner Dudley was there to...

Really loved staying here, Dudley, the owner is a distinguished gentleman and he and his wife cook up some really delicious gourmet Sri Lankan food if you like as well! While breakfast is included (a breakfast fit for royalty) dinner is not, so just keep in mind that that will run you about $16 US if I remember correctly. But...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sri Lanka is blessed with many little known places to stay which have an enduring charm - Regent Lodge is one such - for a relaxing, memorable stay while in Kandy. Established in 1983, artistically designed with elegance in its simplicity providing professional and personalized in services offered -boutique villa of "A", built into the side of a jungle hillside overlooking the Mahaweli River in a posh, but rural, residential area 10 minutes from the Kandy City centre. REGENT LODGE - is owned by a veteran hotelier. The owner decided to leave mainstream hotel management to create a haven for the discerning, who has no plans to expand it, being content to offer discreet, villa style accommodation and hospitality for a small number of discerning travellers. There are no signposts showing how to get there, but guests arriving by the train are met at the Kandy Railway / Bus Station and accompanied by prior notice. ... more   less
