We had a nice encounter with elephants, without buying tickets too... (privilege being guests in this hotel... but only for viewing elephant bathing). The hotel has a lot to develop on services & create a hospitality atmosphere but Housekeeping in charge Mr.Priyantha was outstanding.

There is a nice view from the restaurant. That is the only plus point. Food was awful. Toilets were in terrible condition. I don't recommend this place unless food and sanitary facilities are upgraded by the management immediately.

We were offered a room and when we wanted a room with a better view Mr. Priyantha, the in charge of House Keeping gave us a room with a view. Room and bathroom was of good standard and very clean. Dinner and breakfast was alacarte, but the food was good. Good service-staff were attentive and obliging.Only complaint would be, the...

Fairly basic but the room was clean and overlooked the river which gave you an insight into everyday life for the workers and their families around the Elephant Orphanage. the food was simple with limited choice. It felt that the hotel served only as a viewing point for the elephants and service was secondary to that. But the views especially...

We had our lunch with family in this restaurant when we visited Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. We did not like the buffet lunch. There were too many house flies and crows coming to the tables. The cleanliness was also so so. It seemed like the personnel serving the food were not much attentive. The food was cold.

We stayed here for one night in August. On arrival there at 1pm we were dismayed to find that we couldn't check in until 4 unless we each bought a ticket for the elephant orphanage in the village. Not only could we not check in but access to the village was denied without a ticket. We had no choice but...

We visited this Restaurant after we had visited the Elephant Sanctuary and were extremely disappointed at its standards of hygiene and quality of food. There was no variety and the staff were not really interested. Would not recommend to other travellers. Only good thing was the view of the watering hole for the Elephants

The hotel was in excellent condition with a great view. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff was very friendly and attended to all our needs. The food was nice too. We enjoyed a comfortable stay at Elephant bay. No complaints at all.

Our Sri Lanka trip started here badly! Told we HAD to buy Elephant Orphanage tickets to get access to the hotel by the hotel. I advise just visiting the Elephant Orphanage which give you access to the elephants in the water anyway. Don't stay here! We have since found out that a visit and stay in Kandy would be much...

Do not stay here. You can visit the area for the day and watch the elephants bathe from the banks and cafe/restaurants. Great views were the best thing about the stay in this location. Unfortunately stayed in this hotel for two nights where the accommodation, food and cleanliness were not up to scratch. The rubbish accumulated in the stairwells to...
