Chose this hotel based on its "prime" location to watch the elephants during their baths. We arrived close to noon feeling hungry and tired after a long car ride right after a red eye flight. We planned to have our lunch at the hotel restaurant before check in (We know that check in is at 4pm). To our horror, we... More

We had an amazing lunch watching the elephants bathing in the river once the crowds had returned to the elephant orphanage to watch the babies being bottle fed. The food was tasty considering that the restaurant could have played solely on its location.

WOW! Imagine sitting on your balcony, sipping smoothies & fresh juices and watching 40-50 elephants bathing in a river just onder your room.... In Pinnawala the elephants are brought twice a day from a close-by Elephant Orphanage to the river and it's an amazing sight when these awesome animals marching the streets of the village. The rooms are very nice... More

I can't say enough about this hotel, if you love elephants you won't want to leave. We were 5 girls staying and we extended our trip to fit in a extra night here. We were shocked that you can see elephants from your balcony literally ALL day. Great to have all your meals watching them play in the water. Breakfast... More

This hotel was the cheapest of our trip. We went to Sri Lanka to get married and stopped at Pinnawala on our way to our wedding destination. This is the 2nd time I have visited the elephant orphanage but this year we decided to spend the night there. The rooms where clean and provided tea and coffee making facilities. The... More

Exactly where you want to be to see the elephants, even get to feed or bathe them. The room was nice, was big and everything you need. Excellent service, the food was ok and awkward service from our waiter. We stayed only one night and it was just fine.

Spent one night there. US$143 for three rooms including breakfast. Clean, comfortable rooms with decent shower. Everything worked however would like more plugs in accessible places. Wifi was complete rubbish, may as well not have had it. Evening meal nothing special but perfectly edible. There is nothing else in area except other hotels. Small supermarket about 100yds down the main... More

We stayed here for two nights with our teenage children. (27/7-28/7/16). We arrived at lunchtime, about 4 hours before checkin time. We were welcomed with wonderful drinks while they made our rooms ready. (We didn't expect that, we were just hoping to leave our bags and sight see). We were very grateful for that, having travelled cross country on the... More

Best part of this hotel was the amazing views of the elephants bathing. The rooms were basic but had everything you need for a nights stay. Bathrooms were new and clean. Would recommend for a short stay!

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days on 06.07.2016 & 07.07.2016. I was actually searching for good hotels in Kurunagela. But since I had a bad experience the last time at a hotel in Kurunagela, I tried this place which is about 29 kms from Kurunagela. The USP of this place is the location. Right beside the River, its... More
