We were overwhelmingly pampered by the staff of the Amanwella and have definitely ranked this a place of a return visit. Our trip to Sri Lanka was planned very last minute but I knew I wanted to stay at the Amanwella. The resort is of needs of refurbishment and I was disappointed that our travel agent didn't alert us of...

Our final Aman at the end of a month visiting all Aman locations in India (2), Bhutan (5) and Sri Lanka (2). We had seen reviews mentioning the need for repairs (and indeed the resort is closing for renovations next month), so were not sure exactly what to expect. But from the moment we were greeted by GM Felipe, we...

Prebooking experience- Was pretty good. The website is highly polished and easy to use. The General Manager, Felipe was extremely responsive over email and the reservation process was pretty smooth. All our queries via email were answered promptly and when we asked for an early check in they accommodated us. However, unlike other high-end properties they did not enquire about...

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 4 in an ocean suite and fell in love. The hotel is ideally located amongst the coconut groves on a beautiful beach although the sea was too rough to swim in. Hotel staff were so friendly and so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The pool boy kept us hydrated...

Fantastic location. Located on a picturesque beach with the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Probably not your best beach for swimming as conditions can be a little treacherous at times but when swimming is permitted it is patrolled by resort life-guards. Beautiful private villas with 30 having their own private pools. A really private and secure feeling. Each day...

Amanwella is the opitime of luxury. A private retreat, which is very well secured. Their private beach is gorgeous and the grounds and facilities are stunning. Staff are superbly friendly and the GM ensures everyone's stay is top notch. The restaurant and bar have beautiful views. The food is good, but could be better considering the brand.

We staye 3 nights after our tour of northern Sri Lanka. Everything here is a delight but the standout is the staff. They could not have been more wonderful. The people we met in SL seem to have a natural friendly smile, and here was no exception. The beach men were complete stand outs, both Sam and Mahesh. We've never...

LOCATION Its about a 3.5 hour drive from the Colombo airport. Our driver stopped along the way to show us a giant Buddha as well as a fish market. Both stops were really fun! ROOMS The rooms are really nicely done with typical sri Lankan style. The pools are incredibly cold, so it’s a bit hard to swim in them!...

This is a first rate hotel, in a beautiful location Very professional management, always on hand, and a large staff, all of whom work really hard to ensure a contented clientele. The public rooms and bedrooms are very well designed and extremely well maintained, as are the grounds, pool etc The food is well cooked, well presented. The suites are...

This place is fantastic. I have stayed at 6 other Aman resorts and this hotel is the best (tied with Amankila). Yes it is very expensive, yes some very minor aspects of it could do with a touch up (which they are doing in May-July of 2017) but the pool is unbeatable anywhere, the beach which was very calm was...
