Favorite place on earth. I went a couple of months ago and now I have the time to thank you for my time there. The food was great, everyone was really polite. Plus the price was fair. Definitely going back
We loved everything about being here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was charming, romantic and relaxing and the food was yummy but a tad expensive. Bring lots of books as there are no TV's and the WiFi doesnt work all that well in the rooms. We were prepared for this, but met some people that werent.
We stayed for nights at the Aqua Lodge. It was lonely. Very comfortable cabañas with the bedroom upstairs. N ice e to be able to step off the balcony long to three crystal clear water. Food was very good and the staff were excellent. They did everything with a smile and a desire to help and make your stay memorable. I would particularly like to point out the excellent service provided by Jorge, Ismael and Adela. Together they made us feel so welcome.
The resort concept and location are appealing and the experience could be stellar but lodge, hospitality & website in need of upgrade especially for the prices charged. General feeling that the lodge is in decline. Keep looking for alternatives - there are places in Bocas that are gems & where you feel you get really good value for your money. Here you pay too much for totally average or less than average accommodations and amenities.
I forewarned my wife and kids that there would be no AC and there would be mosquito nets. We enjoyed are 3-night stay here. Hanging on our deck, snorkeling, fun day trips and fresh, healthy and surprisingly great dinners. We didn't need or use the mosquito nets in December. The sounds of the water below you is so soothing. We really liked this unique stay. Upon landing in Bocas airport it is a little confusing how to get to their dock for pick up as the dock doesn't have a sign and seems to belong to a private home. Part of the adventure! We had a nice day private boat trip that the hotel organized for us to see dolphins, snorkel the coral gardens, visit sloth island and go out to the marine park beach. They even stopped at Bocas Twon for us on way back to pick up some snacks from the market. Star fish beach is underwhelming but fun for an hour or two. Enjoy!…
