Me and my mother searched for hotels in Cochabamba that didn't feel like a prison. By a coincidence we found El Jaguar that had a pretty yard, cute rooms and nice volunteers. We could rent a hole room, paying for all beds, and in that way we had more privacy. One bed is around 70-80bs depending on the room. The...

The hostal is located on the right hand side of the boat-jetty of Bastimentos. We loved to chill on the terrace in one of the hammocks, sunbeds or at the small tables and drink beer from the hostal bar. We also enjoyed to cook by ourselves in one of the two well equipped outdoor kitchens on the terrace (as an...

Bastimentos is the quieter of the two big islands in Bocas. As a result, Hostal El Jaguar was a great place to lay in a hammock and read a book, or take a quick swim or kayak in the ocean. Jaguar is a great guy. He's a teacher at the local school, and runs the place nicely. Do the Bat...

I have been meaning to write this review for a whole. We stayed at Jaguars for two weeks in an over the sea room. The place was wonderful, jaguar and his captain are real characters and always there to offer tips. The people staying at Jaguars were great. It felt like a family at times.

The manager Elisa did a great job of welcoming us and making us feel at home. The place is kept clean and tidy all the time. Wifi was good and you can hire Kayak's to explore the Bay. The Hostel is walking distance to everything in the Village

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon El Jaguar because we showed up a day early and glad we did. Next door to Bubba's and quite similar, but a little smaller, less crowded and a chiller vibe. One difference is that El Jaguar has a common kitchen area instead of a bar, so you can bring your own drinks and outside...

Thanks for the long review, we are glad you like your stay with us. We have finish the new rooms upstairs with nice view, private bathroom and AC. The Wifi is working better now, and next year Bastimenos island will have more fresh water since the building of a bigger well is part of next year community budget. We are...

Private room with private bathroom. Was clean, good size and the best and pillows were amazing. Window shutters open out over the water and at night can hear the water lapping under the building. Hammocks on the deck to relax in and a good location on the island. Really tranquil place and perfect for relaxation.

Totally loved hanging out at this hostel. It's right on the water with a view to die for, has great helpful staff and a well loved communal kitchen, the beds are comfy and the wifi works well. However, there is a serious problem with sewage running down the bank behind the hostel from either the nearby restaurant or houses up...

It's subdued in colour and a place to lay back and chill. Hammocks and a little book exchange too.. remember to give more than you take. The rooms are very comfortable especially if you have one with AC. Prices are more than reasonable! Bathrooms have running water for longer hours than other hostels around. Rain water bottles are kept in...

Thanks for the kind review, since your stay we have worked a little bit on the expansion. Now we have a bigger kitchen and double the size of the terrace. Also next year is already planed a bigger well that will bring more fresh water to Bastimentos Island. Hope to see you back so we can go fishing!

This place was really cheap when we stayed here and you get what you pay for. We payed 20 USD for a small double with a fan and a shared bathroom. There was only one more room sharing our bathroom so that wasn't any problem at all. The hostel is built on the water and it's pretty nice to see...
