Don't stay in bocas town, it's charmless and ugly. Instead stay here on bastimentos and particularly at palmar lodge. The tents in the jungle are perfect, the food is great and you're right on the beach. This place also easily has the best, most friendly and welcoming staff of anywhere we have stayed in panama. The vibe is perfect.

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Palmar. Whether its raining or shining or switching in between there is always something to enjoy. The natural setting is just awesome. On the walk from the boat dock in the mangrove estuaries across the island to Palmar on the beach we saw caimen, monkeys, a small cute snake. At Palmar the plants...

What a great place! Zen to the Max! Stayed 3 nights in the dorm, clean room, great matras with sounds of jungle all around. Lovely staff.free boat shuttle two Times a day. Food is great but a bit pricy. Wifi works great. Beach very beautiful. There is yoga in the morning and afternoon, great massages as well. I would recommend...

I was really excited about staying here and the setting is beautiful but the service lets it down a bit especially considering that it's not a cheap place. The dorm was big and spacious and the whole place was very clean considering you're basically in the jungle/on the beach with sand everywhere. The volunteer staff weren't very attentive, with the...

Hi Mimi, We appreciate the feedback. You are actually the third person to have commented on the lack of attentiveness from a specific group of work-exchange staff which we had working at the bar and restaurant during the holiday season. We hope that you did appreciate the attentiveness of our manager, Juan, and the rest of our local team. It's...

Palmar is amazing. We stayed in one of the private tents, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The property is literally right on the ocean and is incredibly beautiful. The staff is extremely invested in your experience. Everyone worked to assure we had a great time, Pat and Patty were particularly incredible. The staff even invited us to tag along...

We are not campers by intention but we threw caution to the wind and spent three days at Palmar, and we are glad we did. My wife I had a large "tent' with two queen beds it. Sleeping was fine given good mattress (if not a little hard), two electric fans, as well as huge tarp that covers the tent...

Overall, I had a really good experience at Palmar, it was such a fun place to stay and beach to hang out at. Palmar offered nightly activities which was cool, but seemed like a couple of the nights they couldn't make up their minds of what they wanted to do! The activities kept switching! Which was fine by me because...

I stayed in the dorm cabin at the back of the lodge area. It was pretty standard for a dorm room, bunk beds that sleep 8, big lockers for your stuff. The food was really good at the restaurant and the beach was beautiful. I would definitely suggest taking the 30 minute walk to Polo Beach. Polo was really cool,...

As the weeks drift away from the time I spent at Palmar, I can't help but think back to the abundance of wonderful memories I had staying there: walking along the beach, incredible dinners of fish and coconut rice, talking to the lively and friendly staff, restorative and strengthening morning and afternoon yoga in a studio facing the beach and...
