We spent five nights at Quetzales during the rainy season. For much of our stay we were the only guests, so our experience may be atypical in many ways. We arrived in a downpour; we had reserved one of the remote cabins, but had not really appreciated HOW remote they were, and we changed to one of the "master suites",... More

We just stopped in for lunch on a very rainy day when hurricane Otto was off the coast. Therefore we did not do much sight seeing. The lunch was excellent and very reasonable. My wife had pumpkin soup which she said was delicious and had their burrito which was truly outstanding. We would like to stay here another time.

The shower was only a trickle. I reported it but they said it was overuse so I had a shower later which was better but the next day i was the only person in the whole place (offseason) and still the shower was only a trickle. room number 6. The restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was really good with... More

We are birdwatchers and found this a superb place to stay while birding the area. The hotel is quaint, comfortable and clean with good food and service and an excellent ratio quality/price. For birders, there are plenty of good birding spots in the area with lots of species that can be seen right from the gardens and verandas, where they... More

We stayed in one of the Junior Suites for two nights and had a wonderful time. Abel took us on a guided hike to a remote waterfall, replete with plant identification, birding, and stories of the high jungle. Beautiful. Carlos Alfaro, the owner, showed us his organic gardens and talked about his efforts to be a totally self-sustaining operation -... More

My husband and I enjoyed very much our stay at Los Quetzales. We stayed at one of their Suites which had a very well installed chimney. The food was excellent at very reasonable prices. The staff was extremely helpful and cordial, which made our stay even better and feeling like home. This hotel is by far THE BEST and A... More

This hotel is absolutely 5 star, and so is the authentic village it is located. Clean and cozy with stunning surroundings I personally liked it much better than the village Boquete but fortunately not everybody likes the same things. We would have stayed longer but we wanted to see more of Panama. Thank you Los Quetzales for the hospitality and... More

We just stayed there for three nights. This is the off-season, and we were pretty much the only people there. Pros: lovely location, very friendly staff who are always willing to help, the gardens are beautiful, and the hiking tour that they offer as part of your stay was really awesome. The food was pretty good as well. Loved taking... More

We stayed for a week in April at cabin 8. Which is right inside the border for La Amistad International Park. The cloud forest scenery is truly stunning. We had a great time and it was very relaxing. Just what we needed. All of the staff at the lodge were very helpful and accommodating, a special thanks to Darlenis and... More

Los Quetzales is very high up in Panama, in Parque International la Amistad, Guadalupe. The access to wonderful hiking is perfect, both to the Los Quetzales trail as well as to other great hikes ranging from easy to very tough. Bird watchers and naturalists will absolutely love this place. The owner, along with his staff, were very helpful and worked... More
