We stayed at Colonel's Retreat in Delhi for our first ever night in India. We feared on leaving that the rest of the trip would have an impossible act to follow! It’s very hard to fault this small hotel / homestay. Everything from the location, just a few yards from the mad Deli traffic, yet so peaceful. Staff there couldn’t...

This was a great place to stay for being in Delhi. Quiet enough to be out the thick of it, and close enough to visit where you want to. Nice ,friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The food was lovely especially the home made banana bread. Only tip- ask for a room on the middle floor- we were on the top...

We had a nice 2 night stay in Delhi at this lovely clean hotel. Nice rooftop dinning area. Lovely spacious rooms, with fridge, safe and TV and we were able to use wifi from our room. Close to shops and restaurants in Defence Colony. Great base for exploring Delhi for a couple of days.

The Colonel's Retreat is a peaceful oasis in busy Delhi The staff are excellent and the rooftop dining experience so enjoyable. We loved meeting the owners and were given great advice on what to see and where to shop whilst we were there .Also there is a reliable taxi service available from the hotel.I hope we can stay there again.

We had a warm welcome at this basic but clean hotel which is in a great location. The owner is keen to chat to you and put you at ease. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, the food and wine were good value and of good quality. They really can not do enough to make your stay a...

Quite a small room but adequate. Couldn't sleep one night so was pleased to be able to sit in the sitting room right outside our bedroom and use the WiFi which by the way does not work on the lovely roof terrace. Everyone seems to rave about this terrace and quite rightly so. As we were to discover on our...

My husband and I travel to India regularly and have no hesitation in praising every aspect of our stay in this small, friendly and delightful hotel. The staff were so welcoming, the food excellent - including the meal the chef taught us to prepare in the kitchen - and the management could not have been more helpful. Very safe area...

We stayed for three separate nights between excursions. The guest house is very clean and comfortable. Meals are freshly cooked, delicious and very reasonably priced. The roof terrace is a lovely calm place to enjoy, breakfast, dinner and drinks. Breakfast is plentiful and yummy. Staff go out of their way to be helpful, for example, by letting us use their...

Our first 3 days in India we were based at the Colonel's Retreat. It was homely, welcoming and very relaxed. Breakfast on the rooftop was a fantastic way to start each day. Home made jams and their special banana bread were lovely. We ate dinner on the rooftop one evening too which was equally delicious!
