We do have a great deal of original art and lots of photographs of different parts of our incredible city . I am really sorry you cut your knee when you hit the bed - my apologies. We try and keep things fairly spick and span and i am sorry you felt some aspects needed a make over - we...

A great location for the airport and Taj Mahal. However it is very residential. There are no local restaurants or shops near by / there is no information at the retreat if there are. There was no mention of a 2% extra charge to the bill (with a debit card). The bedrooms are off the communal area so it can...

We are in a Residential and quiet area which can be a terrific plus in a busy city of 18 million . Yet we are central and close to many of Delhi's wonderful historical monuments. We have an excellent market, a 5 minute walk away. This is a non tourist market with several top end restaurants which are frequented by...

Colonel's Retreat was a nice place to settle down after our long travel from Melbourne to Delhi. We had beautiful beds, with a western toilet and working shower, which we didn't have in all of our hotels in India. The rooftop bar serves alcohol, and very nice Indian meals if you tell them 40m in advance which is fine. The...

This characterful hotel offers comfortable beds, good showers and clean rooms - everything you could want for a base to explore the city. We had a great breakfast sitting on the rooftop restaurant in the early morning sun and an enjoyable dinner that evening. The food was fresh, tasty - and hot ! We ate at 7pm when it was...

As the colonel told us...the villa was a former Embassy before it was remodeled with loving care into a HomeStay. It is a multi floor dwelling with elevator. Each floor has its own well decorated sitting room. Service was super, the staff English speaking and caring. Breakfast is served on the roof in a cute setting. In the winter bring...

Our first two nights over Dewali time were enjoyable. Staff very friendly and evening meal served on a pretty roof patio was fine and the place bustling. Service was good. Our second visit a month later at beginning of December was very different. We wanted lunch after our flight in. Our agent phoned well ahead of time to confirm this...

Hi, i am terribly sorry you got cold food and cold vibes from a staff member. My apologies. Usually , we pride ourselves in our staff being excellent and a large number of guest reviews refer to this. Obviously this was not true in your case. I assure you this was an aberration and is not the norm as you...

We've stayed twice at this bed-and-breakfast and recommend it to our friends who go to Delhi. Quiet neighborhood but close to a major artery to get around. Relaxed and friendly family atmosphere. Great food with a view on the roof terrace. Wonderful laundry service that turns around your clothes in just over half a day. Met the Colonel and his...

We enjoyed our short stay at Colonel's Retreat and especially the roof top restaurant where the owner spent time chatting to residents. The banana bread was something else and no other hotel offered it to our disappointment!

We stayed at Colonel's Retreat in Delhi for our first ever night in India. We feared on leaving that the rest of the trip would have an impossible act to follow! It’s very hard to fault this small hotel / homestay. Everything from the location, just a few yards from the mad Deli traffic, yet so peaceful. Staff there couldn’t...

This was a great place to stay for being in Delhi. Quiet enough to be out the thick of it, and close enough to visit where you want to. Nice ,friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The food was lovely especially the home made banana bread. Only tip- ask for a room on the middle floor- we were on the top...
