Everything about the Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi is extraordinarily good. All the members of the hotel are awesome as both individuals and professionals, and only because of their awesomeness can they provide such astounding services to their guests.

Mr. Satyajeet Krishnan , the General Manager of the hotel is incredible. The way he interacts with his staff and guests most likely contribute to his attributions of being great and likeable. He makes sure that all his guests are treated with utmost care. He’s one of the finest gentleman of the IHCL family . A gem !

When guests arrive at the hotel, one gets only a few minutes to make a great first impression and Mrs. Shanti Bloom and Mrs. Bhawna Verma are effortlessly impressive.

I appreciate Mrs. Bhawna ‘s effort of going out of her way to arrange a comfortable room for me when the hotel was sold out on the last day of my stay .

Front Office Assistant Manager Mr. Shahjahan is remarkable. I appreciate the extra mile he rendered in offering to assist me with everything I needed. He’ll certainly make a great Hotel Manager in the future.

Mrs. Shivani -Director of Rooms , Mr. Arjun - F&B Assistant Director , Mr. Raktim - Manager of Butlers & IRD , Mr. Mukesh Manager of Captain ‘s Cellar , Mr. Wamik - Manager of Machan and Mr. Deepak - Machan are impeccable. These hotel professionals set the tone of the entire experience which the guests will get from their stay.

Chef Tapash , Chef Abhinav and Chef Kubendra from Machan are superb and are superbly handling the department with a sublime team. They are simply mind blowing and one can experience exquisite fine-dining to a mouth watering local cuisine from them and their marvellous team in the kitchen. They intend to use all of his knowledge, professionalism and talent to create a new gastronomic language.

From Club lounge - Laxmi, Varun, Rahul, Aarohi and Purneet are marvellous.
Akshat, Sweta and Sajida are good but there’s room for improvement .

From IRD Peter , Cruz , Shatender , Devender , Nawab are fantastic .

From Machan Desraj, Dini, Puneet, Anuraj are worth mentioning .

Govind , HK Manager is willing to go above and beyond, and have the ability to anticipate their guests' needs, he remains calm and composed at all situations. He prepared a lovely bouquet which is admirable . He was prompt with the arrangements of the housekeeping amenities. His presence can make a difference between success and disaster .

Housekeeping Shekhar, Sahil , Tushar, Armaan are brilliant .

Vinod and Firoze are nice from HK team.

Laundry team is splendid with their ironing skills . Deva and Sood are noteworthy .

Security Officers Arti, Vinay, Digvijay and Anil are vigilant, peerless and prompt .

Security Associate Mukesh and Chauffeurs Manjit and Arunesh are awesome .

Airport Representative Nitin is peerless and smart.

During my stay unfortunately my BP shot up to 176/100 and I had to be taken to the hospital and was kept under observation for a few hours and I fall short of vocabulary to pay my gratitude to Shivani , Shahjahan , Arjun , and Arohi for their dedication and promptness while handling the emergency situation and the way Arjun kept checking on my health was unmatchable. They are the epitome of Tajness . Special thanks to Arohi for accompanying me to the hospital . Truly grateful to her from the bottom of my heart .

Thanks to Lakshya , Mansi, Prakashita , Rohit, Priyanka and Tashi , from the front office for the welcome ritual, a smooth check in and check out . Special thanks to Mansi for the gorgeous pearl set as a gift .

All the Order takers Mrs. Bhawna, Mrs. Manpreet and Mrs. Vinita are prompt

They say people make a property and so far I have been in the lap of comfort , immense care and warm hospitality because of the eminent team of Taj Mahal Hotel , Delhi.

Hence, I’d be back soon at your esteemed property and would be spending my bday there with my mother . It’s become one of my new favourite IHCL properties . What a charming edifice and a lovely and lively team . God bless the entire team !

The staff, in particular Mr. Lakshay Nirula, the Chief of Conciergerie, was incredibly thoughtful, not only fulfilling my needs and seamlessly organizing complex situations for me, but even foreseeing future needs that had not yet arisen or even occurred to me. When I arrived, my baggage was lost. Mr. Nirula arranged for me to check in early so I could rest and freshen up while an employee on my floor provided me with a set of clean clothes. He also arranged for me to have breakfast. On learning that during my visit to India I would be staying at the Isha Yoga Center run by Sadhguru, Mr. Nirula informed that Sadhguru was arriving that day and over the next four hours kept me informed of his schedule so I could be sure to be at the lobby when he arrived.

Also, and importantly for me, during my last visit to India I had purchased an object at Agra that had not been shipped to me. Mr. Nirula arranged for a very sensible driver to accompany me to Agra and booked a night for me at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Agra, where with the driver's help I was able to retrieve the object. Mr. Nirula likewise had food packed for me should I get hungry on the road. Extremely kindly, he further allowed me to keep the object, which is very heavy, at the hotel to be picked up when I return to Delhi in a few days' time.

During my stay at the Taj Mahal in Agra, a member of staff visited me in the breakfast room to inform me that the VIP breakfast room was available to me on the second floor. I assume that Mr. Nirula arranged this invitation, which was deeply appreciated. What is certain is that during my last night in Delhi, as I had not returned to the hotel before the end of working hours, Mr. Nirula called me from his home to ask me how everything had gone in Agra and to make sure that I did not need anything -- a gesture that made me feel very well taken care of.

The waiter who served me breakfast on my first day was also quite helpful, taking the initiative to suggest different types of Indian food that I could try and promptly bringing my (delicious) choice. The staff responsible for baggage was likewise attentive and prompt, keeping, tagging and moving my bags immediately and as needed.

My experience was positive to the point that I do not remember having felt so welcome or well served in any hotel anywhere in the world. I believe my testimony has value as I have traveled extensively, having visited about two dozen countries and stayed frequently in elite accommodation. Mr. Nirula is clearly devoted to his work. This is so to the extent that he has honed his skills above and beyond all expectations. He is truly an outstanding concierge, at the head of a competent, efficient and dedicated team. As someone who is herself at the head of a team I know that such an employee is, as the Spanish saying goes, a 'jewel' and irreplaceable. From what I was able to observe he is the beating heart of the lobby, and as such key to clients' first impression and experience of the hotel.

After this stay, I am highly recommending the Taj Mahal Hotel to anyone who may be interested in booking.

We stayed at Taj Mahal for 1 night, to celebrate my husbands birthday. They made the occasion special with a yummy chocolate cake. The grandeur of the hotel is amazing and because it was COVID times, the pool was closed.

The club room gave access to the lounge offered great variety of teas and snacks. The room size was average and we had a view of the Rashtrapati Bhavan from our room.

Karan from the front desk was very helpful during check in and upgrades. Rishi, one of their team members also ensured that we get an extended check out at 7pm(as we had to a hospital admission that evening and there were delays)

Machan is a restaurant that one shouldn’t miss. Great choice of protein for lunch/dinner and do try their pancakes for breakfast!

It was a shame that Farq was not functional and was closed due to Covid. Also, there was renovation going on, which caused a bit of distress with the noise of drilling and cleaning.

This is supposed to be the luxurious Taj in Delhi and except for a fancy lobby it lacks everything else . Renovation construction is going on and they kept banging on the walls the whole day and till late in the evening . We went to the Machan for dinner and the staff there duly noted our name and mobile no and asked us to wait in the lobby as we had no reservations for this coffee shop . While we waited for 15 mins and we didn’t get a call so I walked up to them and found that the desk incharge of Machan allowing a walk in couple who also didn’t have any reservation and asked the staff for a table were given a table immediately and when I asked what about my table , he had no answer . Attention span of the waiters is very less only first fifteen minutes or first food order which ever is later . They won’t even bother to ask if you need main course also after that . I asked for a bottle of red wine from the menu and the waiter isn’t even aware of his own menu , doesn’t know the wine by glass or wine by bottle , When I asked for a bottle of wine he said this is wine by glass and I had to make him read his own menu where it was written that it’s wine by bottle and after a wait of 20 mins someone got my bottle of wine . All actions can been seen in CCTV footage of machan of 13 feb dinner after 8pm till 1am ( it took me so long to have my dinner ), I sat in the last row second table near the back exit door. I lost my appetite for dinner and just had the red wine and starters , was following up with the wait staff rigorously for my starters to have it with the wine . The service was so slow that it was past 12am just to finish my starters and wine. Breakfast was good but they need constant Followup to get the food on table . Ordered for a cup of tea and it arrived well within two mins at the main counter but from there to my table it came after 15 mins and he had to reheat it to serve it . I was watching the whole move and asked them to bring fresh tea and don’t leave it at the counter again .
Overall it was a headache to be there .
Maybe this feedback helps them to improve .

To Mr. Krishnan,

So my mother and I went to Machan for a late lunch. We've been coming to Taj properties for quite some time now, but this experience was quite disappointing for us. Starting from the porch area, there wasn't a single staff member to help us with the parking. Then, at the lobby area, I could see at least 10+ staff members situated at different positions, but not one staff member greeted us or even asked about where would we like to go. Coming to the Machan, we were cordially escorted to our table near the window. No sanitisers were offered by any F&B service assistants/manager.(It was only mandatory at the security check at the porch)

We ordered a Prosciutto parma ham Pizza with two mocktails. The quality of food and beverage were good.

Being an ex-hotelier and having work experience at The Oberoi, New Delhi, I could at least make out 10+ flaws in the service standards. The main lacking that we could notice was that the staff members were not at all warm and the level of service was just average. From time to time, I could see that there were at least 5 F&b assistants crowded at a side station and making unnecessary noise. Cutlery and especially dessert spoons can be kept in a quiet manner also. I don't recall the name of our server but he asked about our meal experience only when we had finished 3/4th of our meal. This is the basic point of LQA standards which has to be done after 10 minutes of food service. After the clearance of our food, the table was not crumbed and dessert spoons were placed on a dirty table. This is totally unacceptable. For dessert, we had ordered one portion of Bull's Eye, which was good.
After the dessert, the server didn't ask for any tea/coffee service. Again, missing out on an essential LQA Standard.

Overall, this was a really disappointing experience at the Taj Mansingh. Being a non-resident guest doesn't mean that the hotel will downgrade their service.
I completely understand and empathise with the hotel industry, which has suffered so much since the pandemic. The odd working hours and the salary cuts makes the life of hoteliers a real mess.
But, if you've signed up for being in the service industry and proudly call yourself a "Taj" employee, then you should act upon it.
I hope Taj Mansingh acts on this review and take their service standards seriously.

We live in Gurgaon and had gone to Taj Mahal Delhi for a staycation. Main reason was to find a comfortable peaceful stay. Coincidentally it was also the Valentines weekend.
But we couldn’t find any peace due to continuous loud construction work noise traveling to our room from above us. We had to make multiple calls on day 1 to get this stopped at 8pm in the evening.
On day 2 again it started and after multiple requests our room was changed from 303 to 101. Happily we shifted only to find the noise still travelling to our room almost as same.
Then we decided not to complain because probably the hotel management is not bothered.
Few points on this
1. It was a weekend, that too a Valentine weekend. You could have completely stopped this work during this weekend and got it done on weekdays when people dont stay back in rooms during day time.
2. Even if you wished to get this most important constructive work done on this weekend only, at least you should have blocked the wing and not accommodated any guest there.

I especially came for a calm and peaceful time, but was completely disappointed.

Would not recommend anyone to stay here. Will never stay here myself.

The staff was courteous and considerate of our requirements as we were traveling with a toddler for the first time. The welcome and the room decor for the occasion of our wedding anniversary was an outstanding job. The floor manager for housekeeping Mr. Sandip and Amit from his team were helpful and welcomed us with a bouquet of roses. Their efforts to make sure that the required items reach us soon and the room is tidy all the time was beyond appreciation. Aarti from the reception and welcome team was friendly and was helpful to arrange for a place(Spa manager's office) when our son was in need of nursing post check out also she arranged for ATG as it was missed during our arrival. The staff at lift, entry and helpers at steam and sauna were also welcoming and helpful. There were few places where we had to assure that we are staying at the hotel and not outsiders for example at the pool. Overall I felt that due to it's location the hotel was more appropriate for MICE and Corporate individuals instead of leisure and luxury holiday which we were on. The al-a-carte breakfast was not expected as in my previous stays at other hotels, We have always enjoyed buffet breakfast. The showers at the swimming pool were not working properly. We had to find out on our own that if the fruit basket was provided for the rooms. We were not aware about the turn down service which happens everyday but we only got to know about it while we were checking out. My suggestion is to sensitize the guests about the services which are provide by the hotel through a small note in the room. As a guest I would want to experience different services which the hotel has to offer and that should not be hidden. The room given to us was ok, didn't stand out as a luxury hotel room. It was a mixed bag for us. We liked a few things, We didn't like a few and may be there are a few things we are totally not aware of so can't say anything about it.

Ok, first things first, would have definitely given a 5 star to this hotel but there were a few chinks in the armour so couldn't give a full 5*. So what works...the staff and the service. No doubt you get the amazing Taj Hospitality as soon as you land in its vicinity. Right from the gatekeeper to the person helping with luggages, everyone are so courteous and helpful. The check in was amazing thanks to Nayantara and Rohit. I was upgraded to a executive lounge room and on request was given a double upgrade to an even bigger room. The room was spacious with a different are for office. The bathroom was huge and beautifully done. Was told this was one of the recently renovated rooms and it was great.

The food at the restaurants were tasty and the chef did go out of the way to prepare a meal of my choice even though it wasn't listed in the menu. The Machan served amazing breakfasts and dinner on my first night and Varq was exemplary on my second dinner. We would expect the restaurants to be really expensive and I don't mind paying for great food. But one negative feedback here, the quantity was not as expected. The size of the butter naan was smaller than a phulka. Taste wise no complaints.

Oh how do I forget to mention the live piano, violin and chello players who entertained at the lobby or the flute player who was brilliant in the morning hours.

The concierge was very helpful and every small requests were entertained.

Now to a couple of things which were a negative.

1. I had set the room temperature to 18 degrees but the entire duration of the stay, the temperature was always 22. Not sure why and not sure who was controlling the temperature. It never went below 22. Did make sleeping a bit painful and warm.

2. The hotel is in the process of refurbishing its rooms. So if you plan to stay in the hotel and relax, this might not be a good time for you to visit this hotel. There is constant noise all around of machines send people working. Not a good choice when you are trying to rest after a long flight and fighting jet lag.

All in all a very pleasant experience and definitely would like to stay here again. But maybe not while the refurbishments are still on.

I've arrived to India just when the lockdown was announced, and stayed most of my stay in the hotel (for 2 weeks). All the staff were very professional, and more than that, they made me feel safe and at home, assisting with every need I had, which during lockdown is much more challenging. When I couldn't get a sim cause all the shops were close - they made special effort to get me the sim (which I know wasn't easy!). When I wanted to practice Yoga outside and the grass was just irrigated - they immediately found another place for me to practice outside. They come to learn me and my food preference, and were willing to fulfill specific cravings that were not in the menu :)
The room and the
To conclude - I had everything I needed and even things I didn't know I needed until I stayed at the hotel. And since I've arrived in a challenging time, it definitely helped me overcome the challenges much more easily.
Thank you for an amazing stay and hope I could come soon!

I have stayed in multiple Taj properties, obviously the best one was in Aguada. While checking in on 28th, I was constantly asked for deposit. I was told the mini bar will be removed, if deposit is not made. However, I told , I prefer to settle it while checking out , as I have done in my previous Taj stays. Once I checked into the room, I received a call from reception, that I have to give my card details, for keeping a reference in file. Now, once the in-room dining delivered the food in the room, the person who delivered insisted, that the bill has to be settled immediately. It seems Taj doesn't trust their customer at all, even three star hotels settle in room dining during check out. @Taj this is cheap, and being a TIC member, I will this is damn unprofessional. I did this booking though MMT, I will share the same feedback there as well. The Tajness is simply gone.

PS: I canceled my booking with Lalit to stay in Taj Mahal Delhi, I am already repenting for my decision. I am still staying here till 1st, hope rest of the stay is ok.
