This hotel is located in the heart of Friends Colony West within a gated community and is a sanctuary away from all the traffic and hustle and bustle of New Delhi City. It felt more like a homely setting with a more personal and hospitable approach from the owners rather than going to a very commercial and inauthentic 4 or 5* hotel. To add, this was the hotel where we had the best breakfast in the whole of our India trip, and we appreciated the little touches like bringing the Times of India newspaper to our hotel room door each morning. Would recommend and stay again!
Room was rather small given this is an area of spacious homes and bizarrely, there were no bedside lights. Bed was comfortable, though and bathroom fine. Front of house staff not especially on the ball for a top price hotel. Attached restaurant rather average. We had two Indian dishes and a pizza. The "wood-fired oven" was clearly not working and this "pizza" was produced on some kind of pre-baked base and over-spiced. The Indian dishes were a bit better but mutton biryani was so-so. But the rip-off was £20 each for two very small glasses of red wine. My fault for failing to check but waiter/manager was very persuasive.
Room wasn’t ready on arrival. We paid extra for a room with terrace but they gave us the basis room - citing they could do nothing about it as they were overbooked. The manager wasn’t too professional - neither was there any staff around during the day. The room was decent - but we did not receive the service we expected. The takeaway from our stay was the food - their pizza’s are a must try. Wouldn’t recommend the place to stay.
The hotel that gives you an experience of being away from the hustle of the city while being in Delhi! One of the best and most unique experiences I've ever had. The Manor is a boutique luxury hotel, suitable for travelers who want to be close to the city, need peace, good service, want to be away from crowds, prefer reading a book surrounded by trees over partying at a crowded pub. The hotel has about 12 rooms in total, with a wonderful green lawn and a restaurant/Cafe that serves amazing food. The room I stayed in had a nice balcony with chairs so you could enjoy your morning tea while reading a newspaper or a novel enjoying the greenery all around. The hotel is an intriguing history and I'd suggest that you get to know this from the owner herself. There are some open areas on the first floor too where you can have your own small get together if you want. The open lawn outside the cafe gives so much satisfaction when you just keep looking at it. I had the opportunity to try dinner and morning breakfast there during my stay. The chefs are fabulous and they prepare the most delicious dishes. I liked interacting with them and understanding the details of each dish. The morning breakfast had a lot of varieties which just gave a rocking start to my day. The overall experience is what stays with you for years even after the visit. I felt like the experience was straight out of some novel set in a countryside with peace and tranquility all around. The service is extraordinary, there's no crowd, no noise and you get your privacy to make the stay memorable. It felt like I could actually enjoy every moment of the time spent there. At other hotels usually I'd not even remember anything except for the food but here the experience was very different. This hotel used to be occupied mostly by foreigners for long stays but the travel restrictions have given us domestic travelers also to live this experience. If you're looking for leisure, peace, privacy, good food, extraordinary service at a hotel which can be conveniently reached from the airport or the railway station and isn't too far from local attractions, this should be your choice. …
We loved this hotel -- not only is it a haven in chaotic New Delhi, it is also beautifully designed and very elegant without being intimidating. All of the staff were very friendly, gracious, and helpful, and the food was delicious. I'd definitely stay here again. The only caveat is that you really can only reach it by taxi or tuktuk -- it's too hard to walk in that area, even from the metro.
First time in THE MANOR - even if they forgot to pick us up at the airport, the stay was great! We know many hotels in Delhi, but this time we felt very much at home. Nice rooms, nice restaurant, stylish ambience, courteous staff. It's a pity we couldn't stay longer (but will be repeated as soon as the corona crisis is over ...)!
The Manor is the perfect antidote to a day in Delhi! Quiet, calm and friendly. Great food. You really feel like you are in a Manor house not a hotel. Lovely all around. The staff were wonderful and always went out of their way to be helpful.
After reading the reviews we had high expectations and was looking forward to our stay. The establishment itself is beautiful and nicely decorated. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable big bed. We had dinner at the Verandah, food was ok, small portions and very pricey. We orded an Australian wine, but later realized that we got a New Zeeland wine, it tasted fine though. Staff was friendly and gave some good advice of where to go for shopping. Breakfast, this is where the real problems began . It took over 45 minutes to get the order of eggs and when they finally came,it was the wrong order. We got the feeling of total chaos. There where only a few guests and still the staff could not get it together. No one asked if we wanted more coffee, pineapple juice that was suppose to be fresh, had a nasty suspicious taste. Some parts of the order didnt even show up. What we find difficult to understand is why the staff never write down any orders? A pen and piece of paper can avoid a lot this. To sum it up. This is NOT a four star hotel. Its a long way left. …
Stayed at the manor for 2 nights but wish I could have stayed longer . Staff were excellent, food good, very quiet in a residential area away from the noise of Delhi.comfortable Very nice boutique hotel with a coffee shop , outdoor courtyard , spa and art gallery on site . Staff were very helpful and helped to arrange a car for me and accommodated a late checkout . I have nothing bad to say about it and preferred the ambiance compare to the large hotel chains which are more expensive
We stayed two nights. Very creative dinner and best quality of the meal. We relaxed there the day after flying to Delhi (came to the hotel after midnight and felt a warm welcome) thank you to the entire crew.
