The hotel that gives you an experience of being away from the hustle of the city while being in Delhi!

One of the best and most unique experiences I've ever had. The Manor is a boutique luxury hotel, suitable for travelers who want to be close to the city, need peace, good service, want to be away from crowds, prefer reading a book surrounded by trees over partying at a crowded pub.

The hotel has about 12 rooms in total, with a wonderful green lawn and a restaurant/Cafe that serves amazing food. The room I stayed in had a nice balcony with chairs so you could enjoy your morning tea while reading a newspaper or a novel enjoying the greenery all around.

The hotel is an intriguing history and I'd suggest that you get to know this from the owner herself. There are some open areas on the first floor too where you can have your own small get together if you want. The open lawn outside the cafe gives so much satisfaction when you just keep looking at it.

I had the opportunity to try dinner and morning breakfast there during my stay. The chefs are fabulous and they prepare the most delicious dishes. I liked interacting with them and understanding the details of each dish. The morning breakfast had a lot of varieties which just gave a rocking start to my day.

The overall experience is what stays with you for years even after the visit. I felt like the experience was straight out of some novel set in a countryside with peace and tranquility all around. The service is extraordinary, there's no crowd, no noise and you get your privacy to make the stay memorable. It felt like I could actually enjoy every moment of the time spent there. At other hotels usually I'd not even remember anything except for the food but here the experience was very different.

This hotel used to be occupied mostly by foreigners for long stays but the travel restrictions have given us domestic travelers also to live this experience.

If you're looking for leisure, peace, privacy, good food, extraordinary service at a hotel which can be conveniently reached from the airport or the railway station and isn't too far from local attractions, this should be your choice.

The hotel is located in a quiet street away from the worst of the Delhi traffic.
It was spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful in giving advice and organising transport for us.
The restaurant served excellent food.
Unfortunately the nearby Metro station is not accessible by foot due to a lack of ability to cross the highways. However that is obviously not the fault of the hotel.

During my solo trip to New Delhi, I spent one peaceful night at a hotel nestled in a quiet, leafy suburb, providing a serene escape from the city's hustle. The staff's attentiveness was remarkable, extending from the front desk to the restaurant, making me feel valued and well-cared for.

My room, although lacking natural light with a window facing another building, was comfortable and impeccably clean, featuring a bed that was a delight to sleep in. The dark room was ideal for uninterrupted sleep, which suited my itinerary as I mostly needed the room for resting.

The hotel's restaurant food was good, making dining there pleasant.

This hotel is an excellent choice for solo travelers seeking a quiet retreat with attentive service in New Delhi. I would happily recommend it to others traveling alone, looking for comfort and tranquility in the city.

Staff at Carmelo by the name of Raju Singh was great. He explained all the options at the restaurant and provided good suggestions.

In summary, whilst holding itself out as a 4* luxury boutique hotel, our experience was that of a decidedly amateurish operation that turned the final days of our holiday into a disappointing and frustrating encounter.

Having spent two weeks travelling around India, we were looking forward to a restful and relaxing final couple of nights in Delhi where we could unwind, check in for our flights home and do some final bits and pieces in Delhi. The description of this hotel as a tranquil oasis in the middle of the city seemed to fit the bill.

Only it turned out to be one of the most frustrating days of our holiday. To start with, the wifi didn’t work in our room so we couldn’t check in for our flights. We asked reception (and the general manager) for maintenance to look into this, and it took until 3pm for maintenance to arrive and set up a temporary data hotspot solution. He had a list of hotspot names and passwords with him, so I infer this is not an isolated incident and it is a known problem.

This was unfortunately symptomatic of unhelpful and under-trained front of house staff. We had booked massages for the afternoon and, when we went to change, we realised there was only one bathrobe in the room. When I asked front of house for a second one, I was told ‘I will have to check’. There are no signposts to where anything is located in the hotel and so you are completely dependent on front of house staff (if you can find them). Once the bathrobe incident was resolved, instead of showing me the route through the hotel building to the spa, she took me out of the front door, around the building and through the restaurant (bearing in mind I was in a bathrobe) which was inconvenient and embarrassing. Having booked the massages through the hotel (and them holding themselves out as having spa facilities on such websites as booking.com), the staff had also neglected to tell us that the costs of the spa treatments couldn’t be charged against the room and that separate payment was required.

We had early flights the next morning, and so the staff who checked us in told us we could settle the bill by 8pm the evening before we left and then we could just leave the key at reception as we left in the morning. The evening before we left, we got a call at 5:55pm telling us we had to settle the bill within the next five minutes because her shift was ending at 6pm. She could not produce a bill for us, but told us that all charges had been settled.

Early the following morning as we were preparing to leave (and a taxi had arrived to pick us up for the airport), a member of staff told us we couldn't leave as there were outstanding restaurant charges that had not been charged to the room, despite what we had been told upon settling the bill the previous evening. It took another 10-15 minutes for him to produce the bill and evidence the charges that had not been applied to the room (all while a taxi was waiting outside with the meter running).

Finally, upon landing in London, we received missed calls and messages from the manager telling us that the staff had incorrectly scanned our passport and visa details upon arrival. In short, it appears that there were avoidable staff errors throughout each element of our stay.

After reading the reviews we had high expectations and was looking forward to our stay.
The establishment itself is beautiful and nicely decorated. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable big bed.
We had dinner at the Verandah, food was ok, small portions and very pricey. We orded an Australian wine, but later realized that we got a New Zeeland wine, it tasted fine though. Staff was friendly and gave some good advice of where to go for shopping.
Breakfast, this is where the real problems began . It took over 45 minutes to get the order of eggs and when they finally came,it was the wrong order. We got the feeling of total chaos. There where only a few guests and still the staff could not get it together. No one asked if we wanted more coffee, pineapple juice that was suppose to be fresh, had a nasty suspicious taste. Some parts of the order didnt even show up.
What we find difficult to understand is why the staff never write down any orders? A pen and piece of paper can avoid a lot this.

To sum it up. This is NOT a four star hotel. Its a long way left.

What a perfect place for a Year end city break at the Manor for 2 nights. We visited at the right time, when they were having a special offer for the celebrations of the new year.
The hotel is a great property situated in south delhi and the surroundings are very peaceful. The boutique hotel has a cafe, gym and a great spa for relaxation. their special package offer included a tasting menu dinner at the famous and most talked about restaurant In-Q at The Manor New Delhi.
in-Q offers you an unmatchable gastronomical experience for your palate to relish with fine dining at its best.
Enjoyed a lavish signature tasting course menu spread by chef Aditya Jha at In-Q at The Manor New Delhi and you will certainly come craving for more.

Don’t get fooled by the façade of this hotel although the aesthetics are good this hotel should be on the bottom of anyone’s list by the la k of customer service. Last night at 11pm as was denied entrance by car to friends colony where the hotel is hence I had to leave the car and walk a good five minutes in the dark to reach the hotel. It took them over five minutes to produce the key to my room as the front desk was not managed, this morning I ordered some masala tea at 10:30 and it reached me at 11:20 when before accepting the tea they produced the card machine for me to pay no apologies given. Complete and utter shocked I politely declined the tea and charge as I was in my way out. I was carrying a bag and the front desk stopped me as they thought because I was carrying a bag that I was checking out when that was not the case, clear non existing knowledge of when customers coming or going even in such very small hotel. I will definitely don’t come back I stayed last April and already had issues with their spa however I thought to give them a second chance I should have known better. I cannot stressed enough that if you value customer care and essential amenities this is not the place you are looking for

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at The Manor. We sincerely apologize for any shortcomings you experienced and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Access to Friends Colony West which is a gated community is restricted to Gate 1 after 10pm. It appears you used Gate 3 which is closed at night. We regret the inconvenience you faced but timings of these access points are not something in our control. The hotel does communicate this to all guests before arrival. Our Staff are being trained to improve the speed of check in process which usually should not take more than 5 minutes. There are certain formalities that we need to fulfill before access to the room is given. We regret the delay for the room service order and will definitely make sure this does not happen again. Your satisfaction is very important to us. Please be assured we will look into all your areas of concern and look at ways to improve. Sincerely, Devika Singh

This hotel is located in the heart of Friends Colony West within a gated community and is a sanctuary away from all the traffic and hustle and bustle of New Delhi City.

It felt more like a homely setting with a more personal and hospitable approach from the owners rather than going to a very commercial and inauthentic 4 or 5* hotel. To add, this was the hotel where we had the best breakfast in the whole of our India trip, and we appreciated the little touches like bringing the Times of India newspaper to our hotel room door each morning.

Would recommend and stay again!

The rooms are okay but the bathrooms are unsafe. The room I stayed in had only a bath tub with a shower head fixed within the same enclosure. The bath tub was very slippery and no slip mat is provided. I had a nightly fall and injured my back very badly. Luckily it wasn’t worse. Not much choice for in room dining. The staff are polite and friendly.

I was to have a meeting in delhi and have been avoiding it as I truly do not like that city. However, since I had to go myself, I was on a lookout for a place that is not a tower hotel!

I came across this boutique luxury hotel called The Manor and felt it just perfect also it was just 16 mins away from Connaught Place, where my meeting was scheduled.

The cobble paths for cars, 12 room property in a quiet neighbourhood of Friends Colony was more than I could have ever imagined, it was beyond bang on. It was everything I wanted it to be. I reached at dinner time and Camillo’s is where V and I had an Italian meal. The salmon linguine was one of the best I’ve had. Eating happily under some heat and in the outdoor garden with the slight Delhi chill in the air.

Room 2 was nice and spacious with a little veranda, it was on the Ground floor,,this signature room was fine but the shower cubicle is too tiny and needs to be spacious!

The next night after my meeting I ate at Inja, their Indian - Japanese restaurant on the property. It’s an experience like no other. I’m blown away and everyone I know in Delhi or travelling there should eat here!
Taste, texture, guidance and flavours full of goodness made me a total fan of the food and the crazy yummm cocktails! I think I had 3! I cannot stop raving about this deliciousness called Inja!

If someone says Delhi to me now, this will be my preferred place! The Manor is quaint, charming and is made for me. See you’ll in March 2024 for a longer stay!

A special shout out to:
Supradeep - the mixologist who took us through the cocktail adventure!
Akashdeep- very helpful and attentive! With an addictive smile and laugh!
Neeraj Sharma, see you soon you are such a gracious manager and handles everything at the restaurants immaculately! Thank you!
