We visited Shimla in the end of March 2021 and booked Hotel Le Summit Royale through booking.com. This hotel impressed me with its courteous and cooperative staffs who were always ready to help. Quality of food was awesome with reasonable prices and the restaurant staffs were really impressive. The hotel is situated 200 m above the Mall Road. So very near to the centre but a bit difficult to commute if you have elderly people in your team. The manager Mr Chamel Singh Negi is a very polite helpful person whom you can approach for any help or travel advice.
Excellent service with a very humble & caring team. Thanks for the hospitality and wonderful stay. Special thanks to Sudesh Sharma Ji for his kind and loving gesture. All the very best for his success in future ventures. ~amen~
Overall nice hotel near Mall Road, actually one has to go a bit high on a steep road to reach the hotel. The hotel was nice, rooms good, staffs helpful, the view from room was also good...only thing the breakfast could have been better both in variety and taste..otherwise a good option in Shimla
The hotel building belongs to the family of former CM of the state who themselves resides next to it. It is also close to DC residence. This gives the hotel a premier location and to my understanding should be set as GPS location to reach the hotel property. It is also be reached by foot from mall road, the route is about 300 mts of mild height . That's ok for a place like shimla which is of course a hill station. Yes, any one with walking disability should avoid stay in this property . For others, a good buy of wooden stick from lakkar bazaar can be a support and advisable also. Hotel is good for a short stay only. Being a old building is fairly reflected in its ambiance. You will find cracks on bathroom doors, faded window panes and cracked floor tiles here and there. But these are minor issues and can be ignored. Best part of the property is it's food. Prepared with affection as you can feel it while to eat. Menu is limited but that's the location of the state as a whole where resources are limited. Eating area is clean and hygienic. Rakesh and other restraunt staff pleasingly serves you the food. Room size is adequate to accommodate a small family conveniently. House keeping is average. Room has tea kettle and supplies. But don't provide spoon so do carry yours to stir tea or coffee. Side bed lamps were not functional. Heater and gyser works perfectly to save you from chills. Linen were clean. Reception area is small but pleasing. Chanel singh negi , sudesh and two more persons greets guests with smile and friendly gestures. But di not expect much from them. For your every query they nod head with smile making.you wander if it is yes or no. But make stay easy and comfortable. Property is not at all suited for old and people with walking disabilities. Getting to the hotel.by one's own car can be a daunting task. Advised to hire a taxi and reach property conveniently. GPS fails to guide the route. If you are a person who enjoys silence, calmness and privacy and wish to break from the hustle and bustle of city and working life this hotel is for you and if you are looking for happenings and activities better stay at Mall road and enjoy. In the given price range the hotel provides value for money.…
This is our anniversary trip to Shimla for the first time and we stayed at Summit Le Royale in premium room.It was a great experience at hotel and the hospitality by Mr. Sudesh Sharma and team is memorable. We had to extend our plan and the hotel was sold out , Mr. Sudesh managed an alternative accomadation and helped us to return back at Summit as they got the availability. The food served is also quite good especially the services by Mr. Rakesh at restaurant was awesome. The view from room is eye holding away from hassles of mall road . I have seen many hotels during transition but this is one of the best ones. Guys do try once here when in Shimla!
