As you know, Mumbai is a expensive city to stay. If you look around othet guest houses in Mumbai, then you can admit that Delight G.H is not bad for backpackers. The room and bed were small but clean.

Stayed in a dorm for 330 (30 rp charge for 'tax' of some sort), the sheets were unclean on my bed, an when I asked them to change them it took a good hour at least... The manager is a genuinely unpleasant man, who when I asked to book a taxi to the airport tried to charge me double the... More

You won't meet other travellers here, only immigrating Indian citizens trying to find some work in Mumbai (they aren't the problem, I respect them).. The real problem is the staff, not friendly at all, you just pay for the bed/room and you shouldn't expect anything more from them.. They even tried to charge me for an extra night because i... I was not happy with this guest house. It was dirty, the rooms were tiny and had vents that had you hearing all the noise throughout the hotel (there were many) and the bathrooms were atrocious. Staff seemed nice enough, but were completely unhelpful with any information. The location is good, but still not amazing. The price is moderate, but... More

After arriving at India Guest House to find they had given away our booked room, the security guard showed us around the corner to Delight. 300RS more a night than India GH without the facilities offered there. They do have hot water but unfortunately the bathrooms leave much to be desired. People say Colaba is expensive but this guest house... More

reluctantly stayed here after all the other hotels in colaba were full or too expensive. the manager with the crooked eyes is unfriendly and illegally charges a 10 percent gov tax when it should only be 4 percent for the 800 double room. the rooms themselves are the worst we have stayed in in India and the most expensive. lots... The rooms are small and clastrophobic with no windows, thin walls and just a fan. The shared bathroom is not in good condition and not very nice. For the money, you get a great location in Mumbai and you can't expect more in the expensive (compared to smaller places around in India) city of Mumbai. Make sure that you get... More

To be fair this place isn't expensive but it's not the cheapest around either... It's hassle to get to the rooftop as you have to get a little lift (not sure what would happen if their was a fire as its the only entrance I believe) The price for a double was 770 rupees. Now, the rooms are garbage but... More

If you want a holiday, don't stay here. ..and make sure you insist on a receipt (with the nights you're paying for written on it)!! In short, the staff here are so underpaid that they really dislike their jobs and take it out on the guests. Not a pleasant environment to holiday in. Firstly an explanation of the title. One... First the good: it's hard to find a place in the tourist area of Mumbai for the prices they offer. 200 for a dorm, 385 for a single room, 660 for a double and about 1000-1500 for air conditioned rooms. It's clean enough, with common areas being cleaned at least once a day. The showers are actually pretty great. They... More

“Insist that it is cleaned if it doesn't look like it has been.”

“The dorm has close to 30 beds in one small room. Consequently there is always one person snoring or who doesn't understand that talking loudly wakes everybody up. The single rooms are absolutely tiny, but ok. The air conditioned rooms are ok, but it's one air conditioning unit for all the rooms, so you'd better like it freezing, because you don't get a say in the matter!”
