As I sat in the time-beaten taxi with two friends, watching over the moving scenes of Mumbai - that old Indian leviathan - I felt so far away from home. A half empty river whisked by, dotted with distant silhouettes and watched by vultures waiting over the dusk. Skyscrapers loomed in the distance, enshrouded in pollution and dystopically lit by...

I have been to India numerous times and have never experienced such incredible and very genuine levels of service. It was like being part of the family. We ended up staying in Mumbai for longer than planned, largely because of the great experience we had at Cowies. All the expected stuff (clean room, clean bathroom, excellent air conditioning, fast wifi)...

The first thing I will mention about Cowie's Hotel is the service. The hotel's staff went above and beyond to assist us with all of our needs at any time of the day or night, including food (which they were happy to cook for us, or source from wherever we liked), drinks, postage, and a variety of other miscellaneous tasks....

Decided to stay at this place while on an official visit to Mumbai. The place has less than basic facilities, the staff expects tips for every small work, rooms are ill equipped, and therefore small things like toiletries, mosquito repellant etc need to be asked for. Lenin old and in shreds. A colleague of mine had to make do with...

The room had no hot water, everytime we needed something we tipped the hotel staff that helped us which wasn't a problem, but then you get hotel staff that didn't help us for anything knocking on our door asking for money! We checked out much early than normal time however "Tax" was demanded from us from hotel management which was outrageous...

Hotel Cowie's location is very central in Colaba . the building looks shabby and the reception is awful ,but the room are enough clean and spacious. it is not noisy and ,even if,as all hotels in Mumbay is overpriced, the good location and the quality of the rooms are worth a stay.

After having gone through a very negative experience in another hotel in the same area, Cowie was the only alternative we had left in our price range (US$50)...we did feel staff were only interested in our money and all smiles disappear once you check-in...room was shabby, not clean enough but not disgustingly filthy either (we always carry disinfecting wipes, Lysol,...

We decided to treat ourselves and stay in a slightly more expensive hotel for a night. It was just OK in the end. The location is good, in central Colaba. The room was big and quite clean but there were still cockroaches that came out at night! (you don't expect that when paying so much) the bathroom has a reasonable...

We stayed here for 3 nights and didnt like it. Rooms are not clean, breakfast is awful and the price is way to high for India. Not recommended!

After settled nicely after long train travels in bed I soon discovered that it was a bed bug feast where I was lying. I wasn't allowed to leave the hotel in the night and they put me in another room without a window. Also in that bed there were bed bugs. The day after I of course thought they would...
