I wasn’t expecting the Ritz to be honest having read some reviews, but what a horrible hotel. I’ve stayed in some dodgy places in my time, but never one as poor as this.
1. The Room. We were initially given 203. It smelled strongly of...More
The location of this place...sorry but can’t call it a hotel....maybe a hostel is more appropriate...is excellent. At the bottom of the road look left & there is the gateway to India.
Early checkin was permitted but swamped with 3 bell boys to move cases...More

Rock hard beds, bar noise so loud I couldn’t hear my husband from across the room and air conditioning units that sound like aeroplanes taking off!

It’s the tourist central of the city with a liberal dose of rich history, iconic eating and drinking joints and artistic connections that have found prominent mentions in Gregory David Roberts’ Shantaram. Stroll down Colaba Causeway for kitschy street shopping bargains. Take a break at the many
laid-back legendary bars & restaurants like Cafe Mondegar or Leopold Café. The vibrant vibe of Colaba is incomplete without the buzz at Mumbai’s most iconic tourist hub, Gateway of India & The Taj Mahal Hotel on the parallel lane. Sprinkled with designer boutiques, quaint cafes with rooftop sea view, the promenade is a popular route to go to Elephanta Caves & Alibaug.
