Wonderful place to relax. This classic house is well suited to make your stay in Jaipur more comfortable, nice rooms, AC and the house keeper that will provide you with Chai whenever you need. It is a bit hard to find and depending on the outside temperature you will need a rickshaw to get to the touristy areas in Jaipur.

I stayed here with a friend for the Jaipur literature festival. This house (because it is truly a home) is a stunning example of 19th century havelis. In January the birds are singing, you can hear temple bells, and all is quiet, despite being right next to the center of town, and right off a big road. Auntie - the... More

Down a back street off a main road, this period mansion offers quiet, comfortable, traditionally furnished rooms with seats on a balcony overlooking a courtyard. The landlady gave me breakfast in the courtyard, with birds singing in the trees an antidote to the extremely noisy city outside. Don't be put off if the gates are closed when you arrive - the side gate... More

This small charming haveli is run by lovely family and this makes it very charming. You can sit on the balcony in the morning and soak up the sun. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms need a bit of new touch. They serve two types of simple breakfast, but happy to provide with extra refill. As the haveli is very... More

I've been to Nana Ki Haveli for 3 nights with my family, and I've spent 3 wonderful days there. It is really different from Famous Hotel chains and is a good way to discover the "real" India. We were welcomed by our owner late at night, which was really kind. The Havely is quiet and a bit out of the... More

It is a calm and stately heritage haveli where you can live Rajasthan. It is owned and run by a family which stays in the same premises. I stayed in a suite room that was big enough for my family of four (including two kids). The entire place is elegantly done and the dining room is majestic. The graceful and motherly... More

If you want to sample what it might have been like to stay in an upper middle class household in post imperial, pre-Indira Ghandi India, this would be a very good place to start. It's in a beautiful old building which is quietly gated off from the bustle outside, and beautifully decorated. The rooms are of varying sizes, some quite... More

“You need to ask Mrs Singh to turn the wifi on when you want to use it - and it doesn't work in all rooms, but it does from the balcony outside. The rooms with the best wifi are (apparently) the noisiest. I use ear plugs so it's not an issue.”
