Booked through a reference . Hotel is quite good & offered decent discount due to off season. Staff is too generous & honest , owners are taking personal interest in maintaining Hotel & its reputation. Arrangement of vehicle from NJP & local sight seeing was all arranged without any hassles , would like to thank Mr. Amit Chetri (Vehicle owner)...

Beautiful, tastefully done up hotel in a queit yet conveniently located part of Darjeeling. Rooms were excellent, clean with all the modern amenities including an electric mattress for those cold winter nights. Food was incredible! Staff was kind enough to cook us some local delicacies on our first night here. The breakfast spread is sumptuous and more than enough to...

I didnt really like their tea. It was a bit cold too. The view wasnt that great ( Could be bad weather).

Location and cleanliness is great. Check in before 12 is not allowed. Rooms are big, spacious and royal. Dinner and breakfast need to be intimated couple hours early (I guess they don't have own kitchen which is ok). Staff is courteous. Prices quoted online were higher than those displayed at hotel reception.

We had really good breakfasts with the best puris we had in the whole month in India. We were able to walk to see the local zoo and the Himalayan Mountaineering...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Everest was built in 1904 and is located at 1 A.J.C. Bose Road, Darjeeling, which was then known as Auckland Road during the British Raj. The property belonged to the former mayor of Kolkata, Shri Kamal Kumar Basu, who sold the property to us in the year 2007. This building has been carefully reinforced and the basic layout of the building has been retained. We have added one floor to the structure that has the Attic Rooms. This establishment is a 11 room family run hotel that offers a comfortable stay. To get in touch with the latest all rooms are fitted with LCD TVs with cable connection and also have Free Wi-Fi connectivity in all rooms. So while on vacation at Darjeeling, Villa Everest offers rooms that are comfortable, decent and well equipped with views of the Singalila Range and of Mt. Kanchendzonga from every room. ... more   less
